This is last year's news! Click here for 10 Reasons Not to Miss the 2015 Toronto International Snowmobile, ATV & Powersports Show!!!

Each year I look forward to attending the Toronto International Snowmobile ATV and Powersports Show, this event is known as the official kick off to winter for Ontario’s motorsports enthusiasts. If you have never had the chance to attend I highly recommend you visit this year. The show offers something for everyone so bring the kids, wife, girlfriend, mom, dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandpa’s, grandma’s, riding pals and a few bucks or your plastic card.

For those of us that are seasoned and attend every year, we wouldn’t miss it for the world. Us snowmobilers have figured out what’s a must see and what not to miss. Each year the show organizers always add a new feature or dynamic which keeps things exciting!

Here are 10 things to make sure you see when you attend this year!

#1 - Royal Distributing Sale

Each year Royal Distributing brings in truckloads of parts, clothing, & accessories to the show! Royal sets up a massive store inside the show which offers some of the best deals of the season! You can’t attend the show without perusing through their isles hunting for that special something! Make sure to pick up a catalogue for the coffee table and work bench on your way out.

#2 - OFSC Districts

Permit 2015
The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs along with the 16 Districts who represent over 230 member clubs are there to showcase the world class trails we have here in Ontario. Volunteers from across the province attend the show and staff each booth, eager to provide you with this year’s trail guides as well as talk about snowmobiling in their respective areas! These are the people who know every corner on their trails systems, so ask away and chat them up! P.S. Hit up https://permits.ofsc.on.ca/ and buy your permit online via computer or smartphone prior to the show as permits in physical form are no longer available for purchase at the show.

#3 - Regional Tourism Associations / Attractions / Operators

Tourism organizations and operators such as
Tourism Ontario attend the show with great interest to see you in their area this winter! Stop and say hi and talk to these people about the services they offer and what they have for you! It's a great time to gather key information on the best destinations. Everyone who is anyone in snowmobiling and ATVing, from the East coast of Canada to the West, is there waiting to talk to you!

#4 - Manufacturers

Each year Ski-Doo, Polaris, Arctic Cat and Yamaha set up massive displays with their brand new, off the assembly line products! All the models are on the floor from the brand new snowmobiles, ATV’s, SidexSides and even marine engines. Each manufacture also brings a select amount of accessories and parts for display or purchase! Aside from the ‘big four’, manufacturers like CFMoto, Honda, Kawasaki, John Deere, Kipor, Hisun and Ram Trucks all have displays.

#5 - Ski-Doo and Artic Cat Clothing Displays

This is one of the best times to source some new outerwear or gear. From jackets and pants to toques, hats and sweaters the Ski-Doo and Arctic Cat clearance centres have amazing deals! There hasn’t been a year that I have attended that I haven’t returned with something from these sections. Trust me on this one, do not miss out on these deals. PS… it’s a great opportunity to get an awesome deal on holiday gifts!

#6 - The Used Snowmobile & ATV Market

The Used Snowmobile and ATV market combined with the used snowmobile and ATV parts salvage area is the place to find a bargain. These two areas continually grow year over year offering more selection. I recall last year seeing thrilled snowmobilers who bought used sleds at the market walking away with keys in hand like they had stolen the machines—the deals were that great! The parts section seemed endless and included everything from vintage to rarely used race sled parts. Make sure to peek deep into the bins and talk to the representatives if you’re looking for something unique or hard to find.

#7 – Custom Zone & PowerModz Crew

With an ever increasing number of us looking to customize our sleds to give them that special look, the Custom Zone & PowerModz Crew is one of the best places to get ideas and to see how it’s done. I am continually amazed by the mechanical artwork these guys put together! Last year’s highlights included a custom built carbon fiber turbo charged 800etec named Sinister built by Tim and Al of Busted Knuckles Racings, a Snowmobile and Dirt Bike custom powder coated by Jeff Mullin and CSRA Pro Alex Ross’s brand new race sled! If you love to watch things come together stop by and have a chat with Louis from PowerModz, last year they accessorized a RZR on the floor at the show live in front of you. This year I believe they have something extra special in the works as the crew has just visited BoonDockers as well as strapped a jet powered engine to the bed of a Range Rover… yes I said JET ENGINE mounted to box of Range Rover!!!!

#8 – Freestyle, 120 Races & Mud Bog Event

This is a must attend! If you have never witnessed a snowmobile complete a backflip in person make sure you get yourself to one of the shows! This is also a great opportunity to meet these professional athletes and the riders from the movies we watch all summer long. I have personally met Heath Frisby, Joe Parsons, Jeff Mullin, Paul Thacker, Chris Braundt, Dave England, Justin Hoyer & Dylan Harju over the years. These guys are available after each show to sign autographed posters and have a chat! So don’t miss out! They also pass out gear and t-shirts during the show so make sure you are in the crowd. Don’t miss the youth 120 races + rumour has it this year they will have ATV Mud bogs!

#9 – Snowmobile Driver Training and & ATV Awareness

The OFSC always hosts a driver training course for those individuals 12 years of age and older! This is one of the best times for our youth to take in the powersports industry as well as get their snowmobile license! Although by the time you are reading this article the registration deadline has passed for this course, make sure to visit http://www.ofsc.on.ca/get-started/driver-training to see when one is held locally in your area. For those of us that enjoy both snowmobiling and ATVing it's worth checking out the ATV Rider Training course. This course helps you stay on four wheels and teaches you how to avoid injury! We all want to live to ride another day so soak up this information with friends and family and ride safe.

#10 – Goodwill Donations

goodwill
As snowmobilers, ATVers, Boaters and powersports lovers in general we are incredibly lucky to be able to enjoy these activities with family and friends. The gear we buy often surpasses the quality of your average winter clothing due to the extreme conditions we as riders operate in. This is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to pass on gently used Jackets, snow pants, boots or any other winter clothing you may have! We know you don’t want to wear the green jacket on the yellow sled, so why not pass it onto someone who would love to wear it! www.goodwill.ca

This list of 10 things to see at the Toronto International Snowmobile ATV and Powersports is complimented with so much more including dozens of aftermarket parts vendors, trailer manufactures, antique and classic displays, SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge, Kelly Shrines Best Cancer Snow Run, Ride for Dad, Ontario Watercross Association, North Bay Snowmobile Speed Runs, appearances by professional racers from Weese Racing and Rockstar! And even a live show by Larry Berrior

See you at the Show!
