Got Trails?—The 2016 Early Season Power Tour Is On!
The Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC) and Yamaha Motor Canada are teaming up again this year for a contest that will bring the latest sleds in the Yamaha fleet to the first organization that opens a day’s worth of riding on Ontario’s snow trails.
Last year the winners were the Sault Trailblazers in Algoma Country. Starting out of Sault Ste. Marie’s new Yamaha dealership, Premier Yamaha Powersports, they celebrated with a two day tour that covered some of the most inspiring sections of the Algoma region’s snowmobile trails.
With the contest on again this year all eyes will be on the OFSC Interactive Trail Map to see which club gets their trails opened first!

With the winners announced last year, directors from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, Yamaha Motor Canada, OTMPC, club volunteers, groomers and local dignitaries were on hand to congratulate members of the club before they set out on their tour.
A lively discussion covering the state of snowmobiling in the North and the resurgence of Algoma’s snowmobile trails were front and centre, as was the incredible story of how the dedication and hard work of volunteers got these trails open in advance of other regions across the province despite daily breakdowns of technical equipment.
