A Sudbury native, Alex Cimino is a passionate educator, community leader, golf enthusiast and podcaster whose work bridges the worlds of sports, education, and media. A graduate of St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Commerce, Sport Administration (SPAD) degree from Laurentian University and a Bachelor of Education degree from Nipissing University. Cimino began his public service journey as a student trustee with the Sudbury Catholic District School Board and was a trustee from 2018-2022. He now works as a teacher with the board at St. Benedict C.S.S. In 2020, he co-founded the Behind the Bench podcast with Tommy Vlahos and Mason Savage, a platform dedicated to sharing Northern Ontario’s stories in sports, pop culture, and community life. The podcast has featured the likes of Marcus Foligno, Joe Bowen, Syla Swords, Dario Zulich, among others. Whether in the classroom, on the podcast, or in the community, Cimino is dedicated to uplifting local voices and making a meaningful impact in his hometown.
