Nestled on a private island in the heart of Ontario's Sunset Country, Eagle Lake Island Lodge offers an unparalleled fishing experience. The lodge, situated just a short boat ride from the landing, is the perfect place for a corporate retreat, family vacation, or for the hardcore angler to wet a line after a world-class fish. Imagine waking up to the gentle lapping of waves against the lakeshore and the fresh scent of pine. Eagle Lake Island Lodge provides just that. Each cabin offers modern amenities, ensuring your comfort while maintaining the charm of a secluded island getaway. With private screened-in porches overlooking the lake, you can relax and soak in the stunning scenery.
All-Inclusive Delights
One of the greatest perks of the all-inclusive experience is the effortless dining. No need to pack lunches or worry about cooking; simply show up at the designated mealtime and savour your meal. The chef carefully curated meals that were both delicious and quick. The lodge's commitment to punctuality ensures you’re back on the water and fishing in no time. After fishing all day, there's nothing quite like relaxing with a cold beverage in hand. Eagle Lake Island Lodge boasts an open bar, where you can savour a variety of refreshing drinks while sharing stories with fellow anglers. One of my favourite times at Eagle was visiting the bar after fishing in the evenings to listen to the fishing reports of the day.
Guided Fishing + Walleye, Musky, and More
The crown jewel of Eagle Lake Island Lodge is undoubtedly the fishing. Renowned for its trophy-sized muskies, walleyes, northern pike, smallmouth bass, and lake trout, this pristine lake is an angler's paradise. Experienced and knowledgeable guides are on hand to help you navigate the waters of Eagle Lake, ensuring you have the best possible chance of landing that trophy fish. With their expert guidance, you'll discover hidden fishing spots and learn valuable techniques to maximize your chances of catching the fish of a lifetime.
The rental boats are top-of-the-line, and equipped with all the necessary gear for a successful day on the water. From comfortable seating and reliable engines to state-of-the-art fishing equipment, these boats are designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable fishing experience. One of the biggest advantages of fishing at Eagle Lake Island Resort is the all-inclusive package, which includes unlimited bait and gas. This means you can explore the vast expanse of the lake without worrying about additional costs.
While Eagle Lake offers exceptional fishing opportunities, it's important to exercise caution. The lake is known for its rocky bars, which have claimed many lower units and props. Take your time, navigate carefully, and always prioritize safety on the water.
We were lucky enough to go with Joe, a seasoned guide from Eagle Lake who showed us top lure choices, areas to concentrate on, and areas to avoid. While musky fishing may be what Eagle Lake is known for, don’t snub your nose at the trophy walleye fishing. We were absolutely blown away at not only the quantity available but the quality of the fish. In our short stay at Eagle Lake, I broke my personal best walleye twice! While bottom bouncers with a crawler harness seemed to be the bait of choice for the majority of the anglers, we opted for a 2-3/4 (W7) Jigging Rap in the colours Glow Tiger, Gold, and Glow.
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I saw more muskies on Eagle Lake than I have in my entire life. Being able to observe these fish and their reactions to bait, along with their curiosity (we had 2 different musky come up to check out our trolling motor) made for an unforgettable few days. Whether you're a seasoned angler, a corporate group, or a family looking to create unforgettable memories, Eagle Lake Island Lodge is the perfect destination. With its comfortable accommodations, exceptional dining, open bar, and world-class fishing, this all-inclusive resort promises an unforgettable experience!
P.S. Make sure to say "Hi" to the island dogs Daisy and Penny!
