We Belong To It, a short film by Goh Iromoto, featuring Ray Mears exploring Ontario by canoe, won top honours in the Canoeing category at the 10th annual Reel Paddling Film Festival. It also won top honours at the Waterwater Film Festival. Goh was recently awarded Best Webeo Cinematography by the Canadian Society of Cinematographers. 

Ray Mears – a renowned traveller and British TV Personality – travels the world employing his wilderness bushcraft knowledge.

When he wants to purge his spirit of the unwanted static that accumulates from modern life, he embarks on a wilderness canoe trip in Canada. The winning film follows Ray as he journeys into the heart of Wabakimi Provincial Park in Northern Ontario.

We Belong To It explores the visual beauty of the Boreal Forest landscape and delves into Ray Mears’ reflection on nature and his mastered skill-set in bushcraft. 

The Reel Paddling Film Festival showcases the world’s best paddling films to audiences in Canada, the United States and around the world, with the aim of inspiring more people to explore the earth’s waterways, embrace the outdoor lifestyle and appreciate the intrinsic value of the wild places we paddle.
