Maple Products

There are a large number of maple syrup producers in Algoma Country. Did you know that St. Joseph Island has the largest center of maple syrup producers in all of Ontario? Mountain Maple Products has been in business for 50 years producing fresh maple syrup. Their product line has grown to include maple candies and maple butter, BBQ sauce, and beef jerky infused with maple syrup.

Step back in time to the days of an old-fashioned general store, carrying everything from clothing apparel, fishing tackle, fuel, old-fashioned bulk food -- the best pickle barrel and summer sausage ever -- and even scoop ice cream. Young's General Store is a great place to visit to buy a pickle (or several) and other clothing, home decor and outdoor equipment, too!

Hudson's Bay Company Blankets, Apparel

Find the iconic signature 6-point (or multi-stripe) blankets, apparel and more at The Post Gift Shop located inside the Heritage Discovery Centre at the Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site. You'll also find many locally made products from artists and artisans like soaps, jewellery, wild blueberry products, a children's section for games and toys, home decor, and Canada-themed gifts and souvenirs.

Indigenous Art and Artisans

The Serpent River Trading Post is a stunning log building located on TransCanada Highway 17 and houses a beautiful collection. Paintings and prints, moccasins, beaded mittens, jewellery, and apparel, are all made by local crafters and artists from the area. Visitors should also visit the Art Gallery which is one of the largest collections in Northern Ontario of Woodland and Native art, and much more.

Agawa Crafts And The Canadian Carver has been serving visitors travelling TransCanada Hwy 17 for over 40 years. This landmark stop has a trading post, Campers Store, Carver Cafe and an Art Gallery. Find paintings and prints, moccasins, local products like maple syrup, Lake Superior-themed merchandise, and more.
