The Great Outdoors

Tour the many beautiful outdoor trails in the city and on the outskirts of town. Various levels of trails available for the rookie to the seasoned hiker. In warmer weather, paddling is popular in the many rivers that flow through the city proper, and our surrounding lakes. Whether you are on a stand up paddle board, kayak, canoe, jetski, or boat, you will be treated to the breathtaking scenery found in the boreal forest. Drop and line and catch your lunch, or just relax and take photos. Family-friendly paddle adventure awaits!

Timmins Wake Park operates in the summer months and is located in the heart of the city at the Gillies Lake Conservation Authority. Learn to wakeboard in a safe and controlled environment without the use of a motorized boat. All ages and skill levels are welcome!

Go pet a moose! Year-round visitors and locals take advantage of the covered wagon ride around the Cedar Meadows Wildlife tour. Wild animals that can be found in the region are well cared for in this incredible outdoor facility. 

Have you ever visited an apiary? Well you can in Timmins! Come visit the research apiary and learn about bees! Three types of hives are available for viewing, plus sample local honey and check out the nature trails. Call for tours. 705.465.1134

If you are an avid golfer, Timmins offers three courses to choose from: Hollinger Golf Club (18 holes and Northern Ontario’s only championship bent grass club), Sandy Falls Golf Club (9 holes), and Spruce Needles Golf Club (18 holes).
