Gordon’s Park Eco Resort on Manitoulin Island is a RASC Dark-Sky Preserve. It is one of the darkest observing sites in the Province of Ontario, with no light pollution or sky glow around the 360 degree observing horizon. 

The park has an eight-inch Dobsonian Telescope that is used for their Thursday Night Astronomy sessions, as well as star parties and events. Camping, tipi and cabins are available for visitors.     

THE BIG EVENTS

Perseids Meteor Party – August 14 to 17, 2020

Experience the most amazing meteor showers of the year from the darkest skies in Ontario. Event includes a wine & cheese welcome, public astronomy and laser sky tour & Perseids meteor observing, a guided nature hike, camping and more. From $42.00 per person per day.

Aurora Borealis Weekend - May 15 to 18 and September 4 to 7, 2020

September is a beautiful time to watch for Northern Lights. Event includes a wine and cheese welcome, laser guided presentations, introduction to astronomy talks, camping and more. From $50 per person per day. 

2020 WEEKLY EVENTS

Astronomy Nights – Most Thursday and Saturday evenings in July and August

Moonlight Hike and Wolf Howl – most Fridays in July and August.
