he Beasleys Bag Their Bear in Algoma Country

A successful black bear hunt and fishing trip in Algoma.

Canada in the Rough crew has had the extreme privilege to travel and film Canada from coast to coast to coast. We put on thousands of miles per year and see almost every province and territory. We can say without hesitation that Pine Portage Lodge, nestled in Ontario's incredible Algoma Country, is one of the finest adventures we have had.

This lodge opened in 1946, operating as a fly-in business and has lived up to its philosophy, "Serving Those Who Love the Great Outdoors".

Pine Portage Lodge offers 5-star accommodations, a full American Plan or Housekeeping, knowledgeable guides and services, fishing for monster northern pike and big walleye, friendly staff, and amenities like satellite tv for the sportsman who wants updates.

On top of the excellent bear hunt where we harvested a big mature bruin with archery gear, we also fished a world-class lake and fishery.

To top that off we were spoiled with food fit for royalty. We recommend this combo hunting and fishing trip to anyone and can't wait to return.
