World's Largest Log-Built Conference Centre at Killarney Mountain Lodge

The newest addition to the beautiful Killarney Mountain Lodge

Killarney Mountain Lodge has long been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Northeastern Ontario. Throughout the years, they have continued to develop new attractions, always striving for improvement and finding new ways to better serve their guests.

The Killarney Mountain Lodge provides a very unique experience in Northern Ontario, bundling together a full-service resort and marina nestled into in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. The lodge offers lots of fun activities to keep everyone busy including an awesome pool, kayaks, paddle boards, lawn games, shuffleboard, and if all you're interested in is relaxing, there might not be a more gorgeous place to relax than on the shore of Georgian Bay.

CANADA HOUSE CONFERENCE CENTRE

The newest draw to Killarney Mountain Lodge and also probably the newest and most exciting tourist draw in the North is the Canada House, which is the world's largest log conference centre. Officially opened this past summer, the Canada House will provide new opportunities for Killarney Mountain Lodge and will surely bring lots of business and tourism to the Northeast.

Below is a fantastic video that gives a breakdown of the Canada House and highlights all the Killarney Mountain Lodge has to offer.

The Canada House is a 34,000-square-foot conference centre that will be the perfect location for weddings, conferences, corporate retreats, or any sort of meeting. This space is designed to accommdate all sorts of events and activities, with room for groups as small as 25 people or up to 250 people.

The design and engineering of this building is absolutely breathtaking. It took more than 500 people working on the design and construction of this project for three years to bring it to fruition. It has been reported by Sudbury.com that it took "1,000 logs, 2,500 truckloads of gravel, 15,000 hours of masonry, 2,500 trees and shrubs to decorate the landscape." Killarney Mountain Lodge did a fantastic job of sourcing local resources in the construction of this building, using red and white pines sourced from Ontario and Quebec, and Douglas fir from BC. The Canada House also proudly displays beautiful pink granite from the Canadian Shield, white quartz from the neighbouring La Cloche Mountain range, and locally sourced gravel from the City of Greater Sudbury.

Canada house Rooms

This new addition to Killarney Mountain Lodge and the region provides a brand-new opportunity for new tourism and business. The Canada House will open up the region to lots of new conferences, events, meetings, and other group gatherings that Killarney itself was not able to offer previously. Here is a breakdown of what the Canada House offers and the facilities to make your next event the best one yet.

There are many different meeting rooms on-site, and each can be tailored to fit your specific needs by working with a Canada House Meeting Planner. There are two large banquet halls that have their own terraces, providing an unbeatable view of Georgian Bay. The Granite Ridge and the Silver Peaks are the two banquet halls and can accommodate 250 and 120 people respectively. They both offer a bar, fireplace, space, and can be set in any of the following layouts: banquet, classroom, theatre, boardroom, hollow square, reception, and U-shaped.

For smaller events or get-togethers, the Canada House has some great meeting rooms that are designed for groups up to 24 people. The centre has a total of eight meeting rooms that can be set up in the same layouts as mentioned above.
