Northern Tastes Delight in Thunder Bay

Supporting our local restaurants has never been more important. So take advantage of the Northern Delights Festival and dine in or take out from one of your favorites!

For a city located in the midst of Ontario's vast boreal forest, Thunder Bay has a surprisingly vibrant food scene with an abundance of farms and food producers. Residents love the popular Thunder Bay Country Market on a Saturday morning, while our chefs are turning locally-sourced products into delicious meals the city's favourite restaurants. And our enthusiasm for fresh, locally-produced cuisine has never been more evident than during Northern Delights, our fall and winter food festival now in its fifth year.

Prix fixe menus from thunder bay favourites

The biannual food festival, founded in 2015, takes its inspiration from the many successful food festivals in other cities, like the popular Winterlicious in Toronto. Northern Delights offers diners an affordable prix fixe menu from one of 15 participating restaurants like El TresThe FoundryMasala Grill, and Red Lion Smokehouse. With so many spots to choose from, patrons can try a new place every day without breaking the bank.

One of the most anticipated culinary events in the city, Northern Delights was created by a group of restauranteurs in the Waterfront District and in recent years has been led by Tourism Thunder Bay and expanded to establishments across the city.
