2. Ernie’s Coffee Shop

In operation for over 40 years in the city, Ernie’s Coffee Shop is one of the city's beloved downtown coffee shops. The menu offers foods that are farm-to-table fresh ingredients that are locally sourced from area farms. Baked goods like bread and bagels are made in-house, as well as condiments like pickles and sauces.

Going out for a hearty breakfast with friends is a favourite thing to do in the Sault, and you won’t find a heartier breakfast than at the Pig! Open for breakfast and lunch daily, The Breakfast Pig serves up traditional favourites, but that’s not its claim to fame. It’s the twists that will get you in the door: breakfast poutines, bacon cheddar waffles, and seasonal twists (think candy cane, pumpkin spice, etc.) on pancakes, waffles, crepes and eggs benedict.

What you’ll love about this restaurant is that everything is made from scratch, even the ketchup, and the chef uses fresh ingredients from local area farms. Some of our favourite items from the menu include the Duck Salad, Dry Aged Ribeye, or Findlay Fungus Mushroom Rigatoni.
