Crossroads Convenience may sound like a spot to shop gum, jerky and chips, but it’s actually a cozy and appealing local gem located in the old North Star Diner space. Examples of their vegan menu options include coconut curry soup, apple-squash-quinoa salad, a seitan and mushroom melt, and a breakfast sandwich, plus almond and oat milk for espresso, cappuccino, latte, Americano, or tea.

7. Indra’s Curry House

The eponymous Indra was born in Punjab, and brings her homeland’s flavours to North Bay with Indra’s Curry House. There you can savour vegan menu items like onion bhaju with mango chutney, vegetable pakoras, poppadoms, several salads and pickles, aloo gobi, chana masala, and a range of daals, all beautifully crafted with authentic spices and techniques.

8. 1886 Lakehouse

This casually upscale bistro in Callander Bay is a popular destination with Lake Nipissing as a backdrop, known for its focus on local, seasonal ingredients. Fortunately, it features several wholly vegan menu items.
