Traveling with Pets

Dogs aren't the only furry animals who love adventure!

When travelling into Canada with a pet, be sure to check the government regulations that apply, as well as your airline’s specific requirements if you’re travelling by plane, as each airline may have different rules.

When travelling with your pet in a vehicle, be sure your pet is contained and doesn’t risk distraction to the driver. Be sure to plan for regular rest stops and an adequate supply of food and water to keep your animal happy while on the road. Pets should never be left unattended in a parked vehicle, especially on very hot or very cold days. Also be sure to have your pet on a leash and to clean up after them wherever you go.
