Get Ready to Fondo

No doubt you have heard about “gran fondo”—the party on wheels group-ride phenomenon in Italy.  Entire towns shut down, wine flows and thousands of riders pedal over classic mountain passes, though vineyards, and along famous race routes.

In Ontario, you can experience a “big ride” during the annual Great Waterfront Trail Adventure. Ride 60 to 100 km per day, hop on and off the support shuttles to spend as much time shopping, wine tasting and visiting historical sights as you do cycling.

Pedal Your Arts

Visit the studios of Haliburton County artists while enjoying the beauty of the Highlands from your bike. This fully supported cycling tour by Yours Outdoors will take you on a breathtaking (literally!) adventure along scenic back roads and through small villages and hamlets.

You’ll stop to talk to artists, observe demonstrations and view (and shop for) original works of art. You'll also take time to explore natural and cultural features along the way. A delicious lunch is provided. Three different Pedal Your Art tours are available—Tour du Village (10 km), Gears for Guilford (35 km) and Rolling Hills of Harburn (65 km).

Wine Trail Ride

Take a ride on the best culinary tourism experience in Ontario! Join us as we cycle through the Lake Erie North shore wine region, through Essex County and experience the tastes, sights and sounds of the region.

Essex County has some of the best wine in the world and there is no better way to enjoy the surrounding region then by pedaling your way through it. You’ll be able to sip the local wine and learn about each award winning winery we visit. Participants on our Wine Trail Ride visit two to three wineries on each ride, and are then treated to a local meal made with products from Essex County.
