A Sudbury Fall Weekend Itinerary

Enjoy this local guide to a fall weekend in Sudbury! Spend your days exploring the city's outdoor adventure playground, discovering locally made goods, experiencing the art scene, and tasting the flavours that make Sudbury special, all highlighted by the vibrance of fall.
Friday: Arrive in Sudbury and Explore the Waterfront
Start your weekend by the water. Stretch your legs out on the Bell Park Boardwalk with a leisurely stroll along the shores of Ramsey Lake, from Science North to Sudbury’s former canoe club.
Quench your thirst with a flight at 46 North Brewery, with its rotating menu of beer and seltzers.

Friday Evening: Italian Dining and Pumpkinferno in Sudbury
Grab dinner at Respect is Burning, Verdiccio Ristorante, Bella Vita or Pasta e Vino for a cozy Italian meal.
Followed by a visit to Dynamic Earth for Pumpkinferno until October 26th. This is a one-of-a-kind, after-dark, outdoor experience featuring over 7,000 themed pumpkins! It runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 7-10 pm.
If there’s time, enjoy a glass of wine at Wander Food & Wine before calling it a night.
Saturday Morning: Coffee and Fall Colours at Lake Laurentian

Rise and shine, then fuel up with breakfast at Gloria’s Restaurant for some homestyle favourites. If you’re a coffee drinker, make a stop at Pinchman’s Café & Artisan Bakery—grab a pumpkin pecan croissant while you’re at it.
Put on your hiking shoes and head over to Lake Laurentian Conservation Area to take in the fall colours. The conservation area has over 20 kilometres of trails for every level, from the Chickadee Loop to the Ponte Trails. Head up Nancy’s Way to the newly updated lookout platform for one of the best views in Sudbury, overlooking Lake Laurentian.
For lunch, grab some authentic tacos or chimichangas at Rosy’s Corner or La Casa Mexicana.
Saturday Afternoon: Downtown Markets, Murals and Local Lunches
Browse the Sudbury Market, open 9 am–2 pm, and check out locally made products like soap, dog treats, pottery, and more.
If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, stop by Kuppajo Espresso Bar or DaCapo Café and Lounge, both offering a relaxing space surrounded by plants.
While you’re downtown, make sure you have the UpHere Festival app to help explore the many murals at every corner. Guided mural tours are also available on Saturday afternoon (guided tours are 2-2.5 hours).
Saturday Night: Harvest Dining and Live Entertainment in Sudbury
Enjoy dinner from one of the many local restaurants offering a Harvest Menu, including The Kouzzina or Apollo Restaurant.
Then, spend the evening taking in a Yes Theatre production, featuring some of the best talent in Canada, or watch something new (or old) at Sudbury Indie Cinema.
End the night with a drink at The Night Owl, a 1930s-inspired speakeasy. Pick up the phone and walk through the secret passage. Their menu offers creative cocktails and mocktails in a dark, inviting space.
Sunday Morning: Trails and Waterfalls at Kivi Park and Onaping Falls
Start the day with a hearty breakfast at Beni Rise & Shine, and pop by Anna-Laura Bakery to pick up a treat before you go.
Spend the rest of the morning biking through the trails at Kivi Park or Walden Trails. Take in the fall colours while getting your heart rate pumping. Both parks have trails for all levels. Bike rentals are available at Kivi Park until 4 pm.
If you’d prefer a hike, Kivi Park has an impressive trail network for hiking as well. Keep an eye out for the Wishing Tree at the front of the park, or the Lily Fielding tree on the Linton Lake Trail!
Another option is to head to High Falls (also known as Onaping Falls) for one of the most breathtaking views in Ontario. Follow the trail along the cascading water to reach the footbridge that crosses above the falls (the first descent is a little steep from the lookout platform, so be careful.) Plan for a 40-minute drive from Beni Rise & Shine to Onaping Falls.
Sunday Lunch: Burger Heaven at Deluxe Hamburgers

Grab lunch at Deluxe Hamburgers, a classic local favourite and the reason Sudbury is called a “one-arch town”. Try their popular fresh-cut fries, milkshake, and the well-loved chicken on a bun, with its famous gravy. Go ahead, order the extra gravy on the side!
Sunday Afternoon: Relax and Recharge at a Sudbury Spa

Wrap up the weekend with a visit to Ezentials Eco-Luxury Spa. Choose from a selection of spa services, but we highly recommend the Nordic Lounge, a true escape to help unwind before starting another week.
