Nature Meets Nurture

Just a short five-minute drive from downtown Timmins and 10 minutes from the Timmins airport, you’ll find the truly unique Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa. Nestled on 175 acres of pristine wilderness, this idyllic resort has everything you need for a relaxing retreat to nature— including a chance to get up close and personal with the local wildlife. More on that later.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll know you’re somewhere special. The main building embodies a certain rustic elegance that fits perfectly with its picturesque surroundings. Inside, you’ll find ample accommodations to fit your needs.

The rooms are ideal for a romantic weekend getaway, family vacation or business outing. For an elevated level of luxury, try the suites that come complete with Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces and spacious living rooms. Or, for an escape from the typical hotel experience, the resort’s five chalets make a fine choice as well.

The other big draw at Cedar Meadows is its full-service Spa Grande Nature & Nordic Spa. There’s nothing like getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life for some well-deserved rest and relaxation.

You’ll love the Nordic Baths, designed to improve your circulation and rid the body of toxins. You can warm up in the dry sauna or steam bath, then immerse yourself in the cool waters of the tempered salt pool or Nordic waterfall. It’s recommended that you repeat this ritual several times, drinking plenty of water in between. Then, for the finale, soak in the soothing waters of the whirlpool for the ultimate in muscle relaxation.

There’s also a wide array of treatments, many of which are inspired by the nature that surrounds the resort. Feeling tense? Sign up for a deep tissue or hot stone massage. Get a facial, manicure or pedicure. Or maybe try a specialized hydrofusion, laser aesthetics or infrared sauna treatment—there’s something for everyone.

After a relaxing morning at the spa, it’s time for what is perhaps the most outstanding experience at Cedar Meadows—the Wildlife Tour. During the summer months, the tour trolley departs everyday at 3:00pm on a first come, first served basis. From there, you’ll take a ride to meet some friendly (and furry) residents of the forests and meadows that surround the resort.

Have you ever pet a moose before? This is your chance. Witness the massive size of these iconic Canadian animals up close. Feed deer and elk from the safety of the trolley. And enjoy every minute of this one-of-a-kind tour. Kids, in particular, will love the chance to get up close to these majestic animals.

Next time you’re in Timmins, don’t miss the opportunity to experience the unique marriage of nature and nurture at Cedar Meadow Resort & Spa. It’s something you’ll remember for years to come.
