Access to Adventure

Use the Big Map of Ontario snowmobile staging areas to start planning this winter's trips.

One of the best parts about snowmobiling in Ontario is the fact that when you buy your Ontario Snowmobile Trail Permit, you don't just get access to the local trails, it's actually a passport to the entire 32,000 km of trails across the province.

Knowing that there are marked, well-maintained, and reliable trails throughout the province, the permit holder has the opportunity to explore trail systems of the club next door as well as one hundreds of kilometres away. Ever wondered what the trails are all about in Muskoka? Or the Chiniguchi Loop in Sudbury? The Bon Echo Loop in Bancroft? The Osgoode Carleton SC trails of eastern Ontario?

With hundreds of snowmobile-friendly accommodations to be found wherever there's a trail, you can literally just pick a spot on the OFSC Interactive Trail Guide and go!

To make it even easier, here's a map of where you can trailer to, unload and hit the trails. Each of these areas should be large enough for multiple rigs to park and unload safely. They should be recognized by the club, district, municipality or whomever has accountability for the property stating that snowmobile trailer parking is an accepted activity. Check out the map at SledGas.com for fuel locations.

Big thanks to Scott Patterson of OFSC District 4 for staring this up!

Together we can make this an even more useful resource for Ontario snowmobilers. If you know of a verified staging area that should be included on the map leave a comment below and we'll get it added.

Remember, Ontario is massive, if you have an adventurous spirit you can surely satisfy it here. It's time to get out there and ride!
