Take an Ontario Vacation this Year

From family-friendly drive-to lodges to remote fly-in fishing outposts, there's something for everyone right here in our own province.

When most Canadians think of a vacation destination, they think Cuba, Mexico, Florida, and other places that have beaches and warm weather. Well, our travel plans look a little different now, to say the least, with COVID-19 in the world, many Canadians have discovered their own backyard in Ontario.

I have been very blessed in my life to fish for a living. I have been all around the world and have visited many different countries, but I have to say Canada, specifically Ontario, truly has everything an angler could want. Ontario has an extensive variety of species and locations for your vacation. If I can be honest, it's better than anywhere I have ever visited, from winter to summer.

Let’s talk about summer vacations…

When it comes to resorts/lodges for fishing there are so many great places that you would be amazed! From full-service lodges or resorts with meals to housekeeping cottages where you bring and cook your own food. Many offer boat rentals, shore lunches, and even guides to make your experience the best it can be, remember the guides know every nook and cranny of the lake!

There are thousands of resorts that offer the best accommodations that you could imagine. The fishing is the best you will ever find as there is little to no pressure on these waters. You can choose from the drive-in, fly-in, boat-in, and train-in lodges. From full-service resorts to weekly cottage rentals. You can treat yourself to guides for a day or two that know the lake like the back of their hand, and they will aid you in finding whatever species you want to catch.

When doing your research for the perfect fishing lodge in Ontario, you'll discover there are so many different kinds of fish to catch that you can pick and choose where you want to go. Whether you want to hunt for a trophy and take part in a shore lunch every day or if you want a lodge that is great for families with water toys and great beaches for swimming, there's something for everyone up here. I have been to quite a few of these lodges and the best thing for me is seeing families showing their kids what Ontario has to offer and every experience is different.

I love the fact that you can drive to a remote place and get five-star hospitality and a fishing spot all to yourself. The next time you or your family are looking for a vacation, look at Ontario fishing resorts/lodges and you won't think about going anywhere else again! Start planning, the northern lodges and resorts are waiting for you!
