Canadian Shield Exposed
A Route Like No Other
The Georgian Bay Coastal Route is over a thousand kilometres of paved paradise for the motorcycle rider. Less than two hours from Toronto these well paved and easily accessible roads have been combed over by local riders. They've identified the choice routes, places to go and things to do specifically for riders. Georgian Bay offers sweeping vistas of wide open water offset by the windswept bedrock formations of the iconic Canadian Shield to the east and north, and the cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment to the west and south. The landscape, trees, wildlife and First Nation cultures that populate this area will convince you - this is like nowhere else in Ontario.
Step By Step
The Coastal Route also has four itineraries for visiting riders. Each one offers a taste of something different, ranging from two and three days tours to week-long trips. For something close to Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe the Grey Bruce Itinerary offers a good beginners taste of the area, taking riders to an incredible view 300 feet above Georgian Bay. If you want to see everything the area has to offer you can ride the entire coastal route. The daily driving distances on this itinerary tend to be shorter, aiming to allow a chance to visit every point of interest.
