Autumn Adventures You’ll Fall in Love with in The Seven

Fall in Northeastern Ontario has a lot going for it. There are the vibrant leaf colours, of course, but also all that natural beauty wrapped up in cool temperatures, endless blue skies (or lively storms and moody clouds) and fun promotions from a variety of venues. 

Here are seven of our favourite autumn adventures in The Seven—Northeastern Ontario for 2024.

1. Otter Pointe Camping in Calvin

If you’re looking for a range of accommodations in a beautiful boreal setting, Otter Pointe Camping is an excellent choice. 2. Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa in Timmins 

Is self-care on the list for fall? Check! Cedar Meadows Resort & Spa is found on 175 rugged acres and features 49 rooms and suites plus five chalets. 3. Smoothwater Outfitters in Temagami

4. Among the Trees on Birch Island

On the doorstep of Killarney Provincial Park, Bay of Islands, Manitoulin Island and McGregor Bay, Among the Trees is an adventure camping experience that features two domes for fun and easy glamping in the hillside canopy. 5. Voyageur Multi-Use Trail System a.k.a. VMUTS in Mattawa

VMUTS is an exceptional playground for ATV, 4x4, dirt bike and mountain bike lovers. 6. Cycling in North Bay

Have bike, will explore—bike fans will love the new cycling program offered by Tourism North Bay, which gives riders a free mountain bike trail pass and unlocks discounts at local businesses and participating bicycle-friendly accommodations. Groomed trails, varied terrain and vibrant fall foliage make North Bay an unforgettable mountain biking experience. 7. Science North in Sudbury

Science North has great interactive exhibits and special events for all ages, making it a perfect fall destination for both families and adults looking for something fun and interesting. The famous Halloween at Dynamic Earth runs from September 27 to October 27 every Friday to Sunday evening, with highlights like the 7,000 themed pumpkins of Pumpkinferno, the Bug Café, a spooky scavenger hunt and “creepy” science shows. The venue’s adult Nightlife Series kicks off in September with a Boots, Buckles and Beers country theme, followed by a second event in November, which is a murder mystery. The Pink Floyd Planetarium show is another popular weekend event, highlighting spectacular music, surround sound and visuals on the 8.4-metre dome screen.
