Getting Into the Holiday "Spirits"

Celebrate the holidays with a toast! Sudbury has plenty to choose from.

Snow is falling, Christmas decorations are being hauled from their recesses, and around Northeastern Ontario thoughts have turned to holiday tastes and flavours.

One item that’s a staple in many holiday celebrations? Cocktails, wine, cider, or craft beers. The City of Greater Sudbury has no shortage of locally conceived options for consumers to choose from this holiday season! We’ve rounded up a few of our classic favourites and new styles to sample as the holidays arrive.

Whether you’re in search of local products to highlight at your Christmas Party, or unique gifts and stocking stuffers, you’ll find inspiration below.

Stack Brewing Specialities

In addition to their core line up of Sudbury-themed beers such as Panache Session I.P.A., Saturday Night, La Cloche, and Impact, Stack Brewing (1350 Kelly Lake Road) offers a line of limited edition or holiday specialties.

Cherry Chocolate Stout – 7.0% - This award-winning chocolaty stout is back by popular demand, described by the brewery as “pretty much black forest cake in a bottle”.

Ball Drop Champagne Ale - 11.0% - Perfect for New Year’s Eve, Ball Drop Champagne Ale is a Belgian Triple that uses twice-fermented Champagne yeast, resulting in a light, fruity beer with hints of citrus, pear, and coriander.

Puppers Premium Lager – 4.0% - The official beer of Letterkenny (a Sudbury filmed production) also happens to be a flavourful, smooth drinking golden lager that would be a good addition to any beer-lovers fridge.

Spirit & Beer Tastings

If you’d rather venture out to taste some of the city’s offerings, there are numerous of options to take advantage of.
