Wake up with the sun, canoe through the mist and enjoy magical mornings photographing the famed wildlife of Algonquin Park with award-winning photographer, Rob Stimpson. Rob is an accomplished outdoors person carrying exceptional expertise in the world of photography. With a background in tourism, Rob has achieved international publication, award-winning photographs and a penchant for wilderness.

Algonquin One-Day Fall Foliage Workshop - September 30, 2023

This nature photography workshop is held at the Lake of Bays Heritage visitor centre. An amazing place that has the iconic Marshes Falls right out front on the Oxtongue River and trails to explore. There will be lots of photo opps to capture the fall colours as well as a place to discuss and review images.

Algonquin Moose Photo Adventure - June 9 to 11, or June 10 to 12, 2023

Paddle Algonquin’s northwest corner in search of Moose. From landscapes to the majestic moose, the photography is outstanding. There is no shortage of moose – in the workshops in 2014 – 32 moose were spotted. This two night adventure (there is an option for a second night in the backcountry) features both camping and lodge accommodation. This is one of the most popular wildlife photography workshops in Algonquin Park.

Celestial Photo Workshop - Dates to be announced.

This is a 2 day workshop. The Friday night will be the shooting the stars, with Saturday morning, the processing of the images. You will need a sturdy tripod, at least a 24 megapixel camera, with a lens (24 – 70 works or wider lens).

Andrew McLachlan is a widely published photographer/writer specializing in natural history, commercial, and pet photography. Extensive travels throughout Ontario, Canada have led to an impressive collection of imagery.

Lake Superior Voyageur Canoe Photo Tour - July 30 to August 5, 2023.

Join photographers Helen E. Grose and Andrew McLachlan as they embarke on their second annual Lake Superior Voyageur Canoe Photo Workshop this summer. Paddle along the rugged coast of Lake Superior, travelling in a canoe as the voyageurs once did, exploring backcountry vistas only accessible to the adventurous.

Fall Gales Photography Workshop - October 15 to 19, 2023

Be inspired by the Canadian wilderness and capture its colours, textures and moods in this unique photography workshop at Rock Island Lodge. Experience remarkable landscapes on the rugged shore of Lake Superior. Learn about composition, colour, texture, movement and receive technical advice on your photography.

Helen partners with Algonquin Outfitters to offer nature-lovers an unforgettable photography adventure in Algonquin Park. A day in the backcountry in a canoe with your camera.

The Wilds of Algonquin Photography Adventures - November 25 to 26, 27 to 28 or 25 to 28, 2023.

Join a small group of photographers for an exclusive opportunity to search for Algonquin Park's wild faces to photograph. Choose a two day or four day adventure where you'll track wildlifeusing all the clues Mother Nature provides.

Cobi has been doing photography for over a decade. It started when she moved to the Yukon and she couldn’t put her camera down. A temporary dream job as a photographer for Parks Canada lead her to where she is today. Photographing people taking adventures in epic locations. During the workshops, Spark Adventure Photography makes sure your day is filled with an exciting adventure whether it’s canoeing or hiking, and offers personal instruction so you can have an unforgettable day learning how to use your camera.

Algonquin Park (canoeing) Level 1 - July 15, 2023

Spend the day learning how to make images using the manual settings in your camera while canoeing and being surrounded by wilderness.

Algonquin Park Backcountry Photo Tour (canoeing) - August 19, 2023

Spend the day in the backcountry of Algonquin Park. This tour is 8 hours in length and will take participants on a canoeing adventure on a meandering creek where wildlife usually is plentiful. We will take a water taxi to our location and spend the day on the water. There will be plenty of time for one-to-one instruction.
