Forest the Canoe, based in Sault Ste. Marie, offers rentals of kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards and anything you’ll need for an excursion in the area. But the heart of the operation is in their guided tours. They offer an eclectic variety of interpretive canoe, kayak and hiking tours that show off the very best of Northern Ontario’s stunning wilderness. They even have a 3-day Canoe Yoga Retreat.

Meet the Founders: Shana and Ryan

Forest the Canoe is run by Shana Shipperbottom and Ryan Walker, who wanted to “live a more nature-based lifestyle and create a way to share their passion and love for the outdoors”. They’re both trained interpretive guides, experienced backcountry campers, and have backgrounds working in social services and adult education, making them accessible and informative for all participants. Whatever your group's needs and interests are, they’ve got you covered!
