A Spectacular Season For Searchmont Continues Into April!

With a record amount of snowfall and winter weather continuing into late March, Searchmont Resort has enjoyed a BIG SNOW season. Despite some frigid seasonal temperatures, winter enthusiasts have revelled in excellent terrain conditions and plenty of fresh snow. Those that keep track of their days on the mountain officially started their count with opening day on Friday December 20, 2013.

Visitors to Searchmont enjoy 750 vertical feet of groomed terrain with 18 runs ranging from easy to challenging. The mountain welcomes thousands of visitors annually from across Northern Ontario and Michigan. The Searchmont Ski Runners (SSR) and the Searchmont and Area Freestyle Alliance (SAFA) host ski and snowboard competitions, while the No-Limits Adaptive Ski Club provides people with disabilities the chance to enjoy skiing. The Searchmont Snow School offers ski and snowboard lessons for all ages and abilities.

Searchmont is pleased to announce that it will remain open until Sunday April 6th. If the weather and visitation levels allow, it will also open the two following weekends. Enjoy the belated arrival of spring outdoors at Searchmont!

Lifts are open on Friday March 28, Saturday March 29, Sunday March 30, Friday April 4, Saturday April 5 and Sunday April 6 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Lift tickets $29 adults (18-54), $19 youth (11-17), senior (55-69) and college/university students. Lift tickets for kids 10 and under are always free! And lift tickets for the Learning Centre poma are free for all ages!

Current season pass holders ski for free in April. Purchase a 2014-2015 Searchmont season pass now for early-bird savings and ski for the rest of this season for free! Season passes are available to purchase on-line at www.searchmont.com or by calling 705 781-2340 ext. 0.

The Searchmont Snow Bus will operate March 29, March 30, April 5 and April 6 departing at 8:15 am from the Sault Ste. Marie city bus terminal and leaving Searchmont at 4:30 pm. Snow Bus tickets are $7 each way.

There's plenty to see and do while at Searchmont – skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, live music, special events, and entertainment to name a few. The Searchmont Eatery and Bernard's Bar are favourite stops for après-ski food and drinks! Other onsite services include the Outpost store, rentals, tech shop and PlayCare - plus all of Searchmont's slopeside villas and chalets are at the base of the mountain making it easy to ski 'n stay!

This year, Searchmont cheered on its hometown heroes Mac & BJ Marcoux as they competed at the 2014 Sochi Winter Paralympic Games. They arrived home decorated with two bronze medals and one gold medal!

On Sunday March 30, The Searchmont Ski Runners will host a kids' fun race. Kids of all ages can make some turns through a fun race course! Parents can learn more about The Searchmont Ski Runners racing program. Wear a decorated helmet for a chance to win a prize! Call 705 781-2340 ext. 0 to sign-up; or register on race day by 9:30 am.
