Hand-smashed burgers and house-brewed beer
The Burger Barn! You can hear kids yelling it with glee while picturing farmland rowdiness spilling forth from a packed barn. It’s a family restaurant, in operation for 15 years, where you’ll see most anyone who likes a good burger and a pile of excellent fries. You can also grab a beer. It’s all very simple: good food, good atmosphere, and little bonuses that give the place some character to differentiate the Burger Barn from famous fast food joints.
One of those little bonuses is menu diversity. You can get tasty Falafel! Yep. Your vegetarian friends can come along. But back to the burgers (which have been voted the best in town): you get standard classics with a thick quarter pound patty with condiments and offerings of bacon and cheese. You can also get the Mother Clucker, which is the best chicken burger I’ve ever had. Prospector Beef Barley Soup and Bun is a side offering, along with the poutine and caesar salad. The alcoholic beverages include local craft brews on tap, canned beer (Coors, MGD, Moosehead), O’Doul’s, Mott’s Caesar, and the Crazy Uncle’s, which is hard root beer and hard cream soda.
Chief Operator Parker Smith boasts: "everything outside of ketchup and mustard and vinegar is made in-house. The buns are made every morning, and baked fresh everyday... we never use a day old bun! The patties must be Canadian-sourced beef and are ground fresh multiple times a week. The meat is never frozen and the patties are mixed, and smashed by hand. All these factors have resulted in a fantastic product that has been named the best burger and fries in town by The Walleye's Best of TBay issue three years in a row."
As an offshoot of the Prospector Steakhouse, you are guaranteed quality food for lunch and dinner. Just down the street from SilverCity, the Burger Barn is the perfect place for your after-movie conversation.
