We’ve chosen a handful of things perfect for your visit to North Bay with the kids in tow!
Discovery North Bay Museum
Discovery North Bay Museum is a year-round attraction located in the historic Canadian Pacific Railway Station in the heart of North Bay’s vibrant Downtown.
The museum features a gift shop and exhibits showcasing North Bay’s local history, as well as rotating interactive exhibits. And if you’re the type that enjoys ghost stories, be sure to ask the staff about the building’s intriguing past.
Chief Commanda II
Set sail from North Bay’s beautiful waterfront for a scenic cruise on Lake Nipissing on the Chief Commanda II, an all-aluminum, twin-hull, 320-passenger vessel. The Chief Commanda II has three decks from where you can view the scenery – the lower main deck, the second level glass-enclosed deck, and an open area deck at the very top.
Waterfront
North Bay’s waterfront offers plenty for families to explore. Marathon Beach is located right beside the Government Dock and features a new park filled with fun structures for kids to play on and burn off some energy.
There is also a walking tunnel under the railway tracks that will lead you to Discovery North Bay Museum and everything else that North Bay’s Downtown has to offer!
Although it is closed for the 2021 season, the waterfront also features the Heritage Railway and Carousel. The train travels parallel to Memorial Drive and offers a panoramic view of the waterfront and is always a hit with the kids! There are two carousels – the original Heritage Carousel and the newer Winter Wonderland Carousel, each featuring unique, hand-carved animals.
