Three Days of Riding Staging from Sudbury
Snowobiling on Ontario Snowmobile Trails in the Sudbury Region
By snowmobile to the Sportsman Lodge: You can get to the lodge / Chiniguichi Loop from the east or west by existing D trail east of Sudbury on trail C206D which will take you to the lodge, continuing past the lodge to sled the Chiniguichi loop. From the north on C Trail you should exit at C206D, following along C206D (Chinguichi Loop) will also get to the Sportsman Lodge.
The Chiniguichi Loop is one of the most scenic areas in the north and is recommended as a must-do by everyone who has done it. This loop can be anywhere from a 5 hour trip, if you take the short way or an 8 hour trip if you go all the way around.
Day 1: Before lunch, ride the Chiniguichi loop and stop on Wolf Mountain. Stop at Rocky's, to fuel up and for lunch.
Approximately 160 km total. Take a tour around Lake Wanapitei to Coniston and back to Kukagami via Pine Falls. Stop at Pine Falls for a snack and rest break. Trails leave Sportsman on C206D – to local trail 76 to Wolf Mtn –continue on C206D to 78 and then 71 to Rockies. Leave Rocky's on 71 to 62 and then back onto 72 to81 to D Trail and on to C206D to Pine Falls and then C206D to Sportsman again.
Day 2: Before lunch, ride to Cartier/Windy Lake. Take C206D to 77 to 71 to Rocky's (top up with fuel). Take 64 to C to C111D to Cartier. Top up with fuel and lunch or ride C111D to Windy Lake Motel for lunch and fuel.
After Lunch, continue on C111D to Fairbanks Lake (possible break at Fairbanks for rest at Lodge). Take D to Chelmsford, Azilda (fuel in Azilda if required) and on toward Garson. Then C to C105 back to Sportsman Lodge. Approximately 280 km.
Day 3: Before lunch, ride to French River Bridges - C105 to 83 to D to C to French River. Stop in Estaire for food and fuel. Also at Smiths Marina at the French River Bridge.
After lunch, you can return back on the same route or take French River Snow Devils trails across to Pine Falls and back to Sportsman. If the decision is to do the FRSD’s route from the bridges take C Trail west to C106 and then C106 north to D104 going north to D trail and then D trail west to C206D north to Kuagami. There are fuel stops in Alban, St. Charles or Hagar. Approximately 160 km to French River via STP trails.
