Adventure seekers, pie lovers and family riders, District 2 has everything you ever dreamed off. In the 2,000km of OFSC trails to the West of Ottawa and North of Toronto, you will find friendly faces, terrific hospitality and unbelievable riding.
To all snowmobilers, whether exploring a day, a week or touring through, OFSC District 2 welcomes you to their private winter wonderland.
The eight member snowmobile clubs of District 2 enjoy providing and maintaining approximately 2000 km of quality snowmobile trails. Approximately 7,000 trail permits are sold each season by our supporting business partners and club volunteers.
The eastern portion of the district is easily reachable from Ottawa and other parts of eastern Ontario for a day or weekend ride. Fenelon Falls, Bobcaygeon are close enough to the GTA to come for the afternoon and have a great ride, then stop for a meal and head home with a smile. Our neighbours to the south, Kingston, Belleville, Trenton are only an hour away from several trails in our district to enjoy at their leisure.
Offering some of the most exciting restaurants right off the trail, stop in for a quick bite or stay the night. With room for trailer parking at Apsley Inn & Restaurant, it is a great starting point to a trip. In the Gilmour area, stay at Hastings Resort and enjoy their lovely steak house for dinner. Pigeon Lake Resort offers accommodations with full kitchens for the more independent sledder, only minutes from Bobcaygeon. Staying at the Viamede on Stoney Lake trail 702 has all the amenities you could ask for within reach. If it is a pit stop you are looking for, stop at Pirate's Cove and enjoy some fresh cut fries at their chip stand. Looking to satisfy a sweet tooth? Stop at Uncle George's Bakery & Dining in Woodview and taste all their specialties. Craving a more homey feel? Stay at the Shambhala Bed and Breakfast, just off Buckhorn Trail 500. Or Pipers Rest B & B off of the Mazinaw trail E101.
Over the last 15 years, even in the worst conditions, the district has always had some trails that remained open. They have a wide variety of terrain and the trails travel through winding, hilly, scenic secondary trails, interspersed with rail lines and forest access roads.The trails are sure to please all types of sledders. Day trippers can leisurely ride the trails and enjoy the nature. Overnight riders can run many of the loops throughout the district riding on a combination of rail lines, TOP trails and club trails. Touring sledders travelling through our area will certainly appreciate our well groomed and signed trail system and all of the convenient services along the way.
