3-Day Student Itinerary in Sudbury: Learn, Explore and Play

Day 1: Arrival, Mining History and Outdoor Learning in Sudbury

Morning: Dynamic Earth – Hands-On Mining and Earth Science Experiences

Home of the iconic Big Nickel, Dynamic Earth brings earth science and mining to life. Students will explore interactive exhibits and meet real scientists, then descend seven storeys underground for a guided tour through Sudbury’s mining history.

Lunch: Don’s Pizza

A Sudbury favourite and the city’s oldest pizza joint.  Perfect for casual group lunch for students.

Afternoon: Lake Laurentian Conservation Area – Outdoor Education and Nature Trails 

Lake Laurentian Conservation Area offers over 2,400 acres of protected wilderness with trails suited for all skill levels. Educational programming is available and can be tailored to align with the Ontario curriculum.

Dinner: The Garden Grille at Hilton Garden Inn

Convenient group-friendly dining with a variety of options.

Evening

Free time. Relax at the hotel or enjoy supervised downtime before another full day of exploring that's coming up.

Day 2: Science, Attractions and Group Activities in Sudbury

Morning: Science North – Interactive STEM Learning and IMAX Experiences

Four floors of science fun for all ages, Science North is now Canada’s Largest Science Centre. Don’t miss the IMAX theatre or the latest exhibit.  Check the website for more information on the special exhibit.

Lunch: Elements at Science North or boxed lunches available

Afternoon (Choose One):

  • IMAX Theatre: Enhance learning with an educational film on a giant screen.
  • Ramsey Lake Boat Cruise: A private guided cruise with Captain Rob on the William Ramsey Boat Cruise, departing from Science North, where students learn some history and geography of the area.

Dinner: Made In Canada (MIC) Canadian Eatery

A lively spot featuring Canadian favourites.

Evening Activity: Urban Air Trampoline Park for Student Groups

Let the students burn off energy at the ultimate adventure park with epic attractions with trampolines, climbing walls and more.

Day 3: Outdoor Adventure and Active Learning at Kivi Park

Morning: Kivi Park

Students can hike, paddle, or participate in guided outdoor experiences. Equipment rentals and guided programming are available.

Lunch: Boxed lunches from 38 Gourmet located at Regency Bakery.
