Where to Find the Best Cocktails in Sudbury
After working in the hospitality industry for more than 10 years, I’ve learned that a good dining experience can sometimes be hard to find.
With having so many restaurants options to choose from, and only having a weekend to indulge, and enjoy, we were lucky enough to visit some incredible ones that I want to share with you to help make your next trip to Sudbury the best it can be.
Here are the restaurants where we found our favourite cocktails!
1. The Kouzzina
The Kouzzina is a Greek and Italian restaurant that also offers both delicious food and cocktails. If you are a Gin and Tonic lover, the Kouzzina is an absolute must as they have a specialty section on their cocktail menu offering up to four different Gin and Tonic options for you to enjoy.
Another cocktail we absolutely loved from The Kouzzina, was their Artisanal Fire in the Tropics Cocktail. This cocktail is tequila and mezcal based, created with Cointreau, grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, lime bitters, cane syrup, and tajin. It was the perfect drink to make you feel like you’re on a tropical vacation, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys tequila-based cocktails.
2. The Alibi Room
The Alibi Room has great vibes, decor, and most importantly cocktails. This restaurant makes the perfect late-night spot to visit, or a great spot to enjoy date night at. They offer a very extensive cocktail and drink menu, providing many different options to help you find the perfect one to enjoy. I chose their Blue Razz Spritz Cocktail that is created with raspberry-infused vodka, blue curacao, lemon, simple, and sparkling. John prefers more stronger cocktails rather than sweet, so he ordered their Pineapple Bites Back cocktail that they describe as spirit-forward, funky, spiced and the Old Fashioned that has teeth. At the Alibi Room, you can tell that all staff take a lot of pride in their cocktail creations which was a great experience as a customer.
Something I also learned while visiting the Alibi Room, is that they offer an at home Cocktail Club that has three different tiers to choose from.
3. Crosscut Distillery
During our visit to Crosscut Distillery, we enjoyed a unique tasting flight, as well as delicious cocktails here.
4. Wander Food and Wine
Overall, my favourite restaurant we visited during our experience was Wander Food & Wine. Wander is Sudbury’s ONLY wine bar that has a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Their wine list is very extensive to help ensure you find the perfect wine to enjoy during your visit, and they also offer sparkling cocktails, wine-based cocktails, and a beer + cider menu as well. Wander also offers weekly Tasting Room Thursday events that help bring amazing Ontario wineries to you. Fortunately, we were in town on one of the Thursday nights they hosted this event, and we got to visit and enjoy it for ourselves. We each enjoyed a wine tasting together from the Ontario winery that was showcased that night, and paired it with their tasty tapas. Wander also had live music performing that night, which made the entire dining experience absolutely incredible.
5. 46 North Brewing
If you’re looking for something different to enjoy other than cocktails, 46 North Brewing is a great place to check out. 46 North Brewing specialize in tasty beers, hard seltzers and offers a rotating menu that changes every week offering new or re-releases of beer. (Side note- 46 North Brewing and Crosscut Distillery are very close to each other in distance, so this is a great opportunity to visit two places at once!)
As I mentioned, this was only our first visit to Sudbury. I believe a huge contribution of what made our first experience such a great one, was the fantastic experiences we had at these restaurants. After our visit, I received so many more restaurant recommendations to visit next time we are in the area, which makes me so excited to come back again soon.
No matter if you visit all five of these spots mentioned in the article, or only a couple- I hope your experience is as enjoyable as ours.
