Sudbury's Gorgeous Provincial Parks

Located just 40 minutes from Downtown Sudbury, Windy Lake is the perfect escape into the wilderness. One of the most unique features of Windy Lake is its expansive 1.5 km of shoreline which is almost all beach. There is plenty of space for the whole family to swim, play beach volleyball or soak up the sun! Windy Lake also offers the perfect scenic backdrop with its vast rolling waves. The beach and lake are beautiful, Windy Lake is one of the most popular beaches in Sudbury!

When it comes to camping, from parking a trailer, setting up a tent or spending a night in a Yurt, Windy Lake offers plenty of overnight options to make for a memorable vacation! Yurts at Windy Lake Provincial Park sleep 6 people and are fully equipped with two sets of double/single bunk beds, lighting, electric heat, a table and chairs, an electric outlet. These are available in the summer and winter, where you will be sure to stay warm as they are heated during the winter months! Windy Lake offers over 15 km of forested cross-country ski trails which are enjoyable for both classic and skate-skiing. In the summer, canoe rentals are also available so you can give fishing a try!

Since 1958 Fairbank Lake has been a chosen destination for its crystal clear waters, peaceful atmosphere, and scenic forest. When driving into Fairbank Provincial Park you will be greeted by towering trees that curl over the road. The campsites and amenities offered make it ideal for a camping trip! There is plenty of space to enjoy some bocce or a round of horseshoes!

The water at Fairbank is clear and warm, making it perfect for a swim! The beach and the buoyed in swimming zone is ideal for kids! Then, you can enjoy some beach volleyball or climb on the play structure just 2 steps away from the beach. There is also another beach if you want a little more of a private spot to picnic in peace with the family!

Fairbank Lake is known for fishing and the park offers canoe rentals so you can explore the vast lake! When you come back from a fishing adventure, take a hike during sunset down WaShaiGaMog trail to a lookout where you can view the lake, be sure to bring a camera! Then fall asleep under the stars at one of the beautiful campsites.
