Art, Culture and Entertainment

Thunder Bay is alive with art and entertainment. With dozens of art galleries and public art displays, live performance and music venues there is something for everyone.

Fantastic Culinary Creations

There are many things to do and places to see but if you ask a local, the "must-do" on your visit to Thunder Bay is... EAT! Where should you go? It really doesn't matter, the culinary scene in Thunder Bay is comparable to what you would find in any major city. Talented and creative chefs with a strong farm-to-table culture have opened dozens of restaurants in recent years, add these newcomers to the favourites that have been around for awhile and you can guarantee happy taste buds and full bellies with a trip to Thunder Bay.

Outdoor Adventures

One of Canada's Premier Outdoor Cities, Thunder Bay has it all. Recreational trails throughout the city allow for walking, running, cycling and light hiking. Venture a little further out and you will find more adventurous hiking, rock climbing and fantastic mountain bike trails. The Thunder Bay Border Cats and the Thunder Bay Chill offer hometown sports excitement, while the city boasts nearly a dozen golf courses (both private and municipally owned).

Life on the Water

Thunder Bay is on the shores of the world's largest freshwater lake - Lake Superior. The big lake offers incredible sailing, fishing, kayaking and windsurfing opportunities. Thunder Bay is also the basecamp for many Northwest Ontario adventures. Northwest Ontario is a large region that is home to 150,000 lakes, rivers and streams with ample opportunities to wakeboard, waterski, stand-up paddleboard or just cool off on a hot summer day.

Let the Day Happen

For locals and visitors alike, when in Thunder Bay there is always something to do... just Let the Day Happen!
