Premium Meats, Homestyle Takeout Eats

A local takeout food establishment specializing in large portion meat sandwiches at reasonable prices.

Hello meat lovers! Do I have a place for you on your next visit to Thunder Bay!

If you love carbs and a few calories, but plan to burn them off sometime soon, then Man vs Meat is the place for you.

This takeout food establishment on Victora Avenue, close to the downtown south core, is the brainchild of owner Jasen Dowhaniuk  and Chef and Operating Partner Jordan Vollett.

There are relatively healthy choices here, like the club sandwiches and soups, which are really good, but where’s the fun in that?

You could be like the guy I met who sat on the little bench in the shop. He was a healthy, muscly-looking guy, and he loves this place. He figures that in a couple weeks he’ll have tried everything on the menu.

Man vs Meat is really only for takeout, but there are a couple benches for you if you’re in a rush. This is home-style food for you to unload on your kitchen table.
Portion sizes are very good and the price is right. Taxes are included in the price, but the fries or salads are an extra for the meals.

If you’re looking for a meaty challenge, there are the “Fan Faves” on the menu, the Carnivore and Double Carnivore, that will make any fast food burger look like an appetizer.

You can get a Cheese Steak, Beef Dip, Striploin Steak, Meatloaf Marinara, Hamburger Nip, Reuben, Chicken OParmesan, Chicken Club, hot sandwiches and more.

Check out the menu online, and every time you drive by this unassuming little place you’ll be thinking of the big meal you could be having.

On a visit to Thunder Bay, you will find Man vs. Meat on the city’s southside at 1101 Victoria Avenue. Or check them out on their Facebook page, or call 807-286-3287.
