The BOATsmart! Coast-to-Coast Tour Hits Ontario’s Lakes!

BOATsmart! is doing something amazing this summer. Our Safe Boating Team is travelling from Canada’s East to West coast in our Nissan Titan with a Bayliner Element in tow. Why do this? To send disadvantaged kids to camp through our #BoatSmartMoment campaign and to celebrate just how awesome it is to be a Canadian boater!

#Boat Smart Moments

So, how exactly does this work? Easy. You take a photo on your phone and use the hashtag #BoatSmartMoment to post the photo to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. For every post contributed, BOATsmart! will donate $1 towards sending kids to select camps in Canada. Get posting to help us reach our donation goal of $10,000!

The absolute coolest thing about this initiative is that Canadian boaters like you are the steam behind the engine! All you need to do is post photos of your favourite boating, lake and cottage moments using the hashtag #BoatSmartMoment!

Cottage Life Television is helping us spread this important message across Canada. Check out the awesome Coast-to-Coast commercial:

Boating From Coast-to-Coast!

The team will be touring every day this summer, stopping at participating Canadian Tire stores, kids camps and treasured landmarks along the Trans Canada Highway to celebrate the #BoatSmartMoments of summer and to raise the banner on boating safety.

Ontariooooo!!!

The Ontario part of the tour experience has been truly FANTASTIC so far- in part due to the incredible lake country out here, but also because of the awesome boating events in Ontario!

This past week the team hit the Muskoka area to check out the Muskoka In-Water Boat and Cottage Show and the Gravenhurst Annual Vintage Boat Show—it was awesome to see boaters get as excited about the old boats as they were about the new ones! A shiny, old cedar-strip is as gorgeous to look at as those brand new 2015 boats!

While in Muskoka, we caught up with BOATsmart! cardholder and Canadian funny man Martin Short at the BOATsmart! booth! Thanks for the laughs Marty!

The team has been heading north and hitting Ontario Parks all along the way to enjoy the spectacular scenery and awesome boating opportunities! This week we hit Pancake Bay, White Lake, Sleeping Giant, Kakabeka Falls and Rushing River! Did you know there are over 60 Ontario Parks that allow motorized boating? News flash: Provincial Parks aren’t just for paddlers!

Our Northern Ontario adventure hit participating Canadian Tire stores in North Bay, Sudbury, and Sault St. Marie this past week. We have been stopping all along the way to hook up community members with their boating license. Last up, the Titan heads northwest for the weekend to Dryden and Kenora before cruising across the prairies westward to do some boating on the Pacific side!

Ontario Boater Photos!

We’re making memories... and so should you! Represent Ontario’s beautiful lakes by sharing your favorite summer moments on the water! Here are a couple examples of great photo contributions from recent posts—keep em’ comin’ Ontario! It only takes a ‘moment’ and it’s for a great cause!
