Ontario Road Cycling Event and Race Guide 2026

Enjoy the province’s exceptional variety of organized cycling fun.

Ontario is home to a long list of road cycling events. There are plenty of Ontario cycling events to choose from, regardless of your skill level. Check out Ontario By Bike to find helpful local shops to enhance your experience with complete bike rentals, as well as a map of bicycle-friendly businesses, including accommodations, restaurants and pubs.

Ontario Cycling is another great resource that provides more information about cycling clubs across the province, many of which organize recurring events like weekly group rides. Meanwhile, Ontario By Bike hosts two-day, self-guided and fully supported bike tours on some of Ontario’s most spectacular routes throughout the cycling season. Dates and destinations are available now. Also, don’t forget to check Ontario’s many great riding options on websites (and mobile apps) like AllTrails and BikeMap.

Here’s a month-by-month list of road bicycle races and events across Ontario.

April

19 Clarence Rockland Classic — This 113-kilometre race in Eastern Ontario includes a mix of gravel and paved roads. The ride passes through scenic rural woodlots and farm fields, just emerging from winter slumber. Shorter 52- and 23-km routes are also available.

26 Paris to Ancaster – Open the season with a challenging event that was inspired by France’s legendary Paris-Roubaix. A spring tradition since 1994, the Paris to Ancaster includes a scenic mix of farm lanes, trails and gravel roads. 

May

CN Cycle for CHEO — Scenic cycling events starting at Ottawa’s Canadian War Museum in LeBreton Flats support children with cancer at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Bike routes range from 15 to 70 kilometres.

Turas Mor — This great event in the scenic Grey Bruce community of Creemore is equal parts fun, quirky and serious. Options include a 20 km Cruiser event for recreational cyclists, tough 40- and 60-km gravel routes, and an 85-km road ride. Bonus points are awarded to those who have vintage, pre-1987 steel road bikes. The event is sponsored by Creemore Springs, a legendary Ontario microbrewery.

10 Hell of the North — Looking for a serious challenge? Sign up for a 100-km race through the Oak Ridges Moraine to Lake Simcoe including rail trails, dirt roads and big, scenic climbs. Make sure your cyclocross or mountain bike is tuned up for this hard-core event.

22-25 Canadian Tandem Rally — If you love riding a tandem bicycle, you’ll find plenty of companionship at this multiday event in Welland, near Niagara Falls. Route lengths range from 50 to 90 kilometres.

23 Jack Ride — Group rides up to 125 km in Caledon in late May to raise funds for youth mental health.

24 Melrose Gravel Tour – Hosted by Belleville’s Doug’s Bikes, the Melrose Gravel Tour features 35-, 50- and 80-km events, including a combination of “nice roads and nasty trails.” All in all it promises to be a good time.

24 Rotary Lilac Ride — Experience the renowned scenery of southeastern Ontario’s Prince Edward County on this ride from the community of Picton, on Lake Ontario. Options include 25-, 50- and 100-km routes.

25-31 7 Days in May — There are plenty of riding options along the scenic Lake Ontario shore of Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe in this weeklong fundraising event.

31 Tour di via Italia – Based in Windsor, this second installment of the OCup road series is Ontario’s longest-running urban road cycling race. It features criterium-style racing in Windsor’s vibrant Little Italy.

31 Bike for Brain Health Supporting Baycrest — Sign up to ride the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway and support research, innovation, care and education in the study of aging and brain health. Some of Toronto’s busiest roadways are closed to vehicles to support 25-, 50- and 75-kilometre rides.

TBD Bike-A-Thon Plus — Ride around Cornwall, Ontario, to support the Children’s Treatment Centre.

NCC Weekend Bike Days — Sundays in Ottawa from late May to early September are all about cycling, with 50 kilometres of urban roadways in the National Capital Region closed to motor vehicles.

June

6-7 Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour — This premier road riding event organized by the Ottawa Bicycle Club includes four different routes from Ottawa to Kingston, on some of the best road cycling routes in eastern Ontario.

6-7 Manitoulin Passage Ride — There’s no better way to discover some of Ontario’s finest road biking on Manitoulin Island than with this two-day supported ride. Registration includes ferry crossing, meals and entertainment.

13 Bike The Creek — Peel Region hosts an all-levels bike ride exploring the natural and cultural heritage of Southern Ontario.

13-14 The Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer — Raise money to support research at one of Canada’s largest cancer centres and enjoy two days of cycling in the GTA.

14 Preston Street Crit – This historic, high-speed and competitive race is organized by Bike Race Ottawa on the streets of the city’s Little Italy.

14-19 Alvar Cycle Tour – Experience all of Manitoulin Island’s renowned cycling routes on this 5-day tour that covers up to 314 km. You’ll enjoy smooth and quiet country roads, fantastic rolling hills and encounter over 100 lakes, in a fully-supported, guided ride. Accommodations and meals are also included. Also running September 6 to 11.

21 Moveathon Ride — Choose between 26-, 50-, 100- and 160-kilometre route options on this charity ride in York Region, near Toronto.

28 Hairshirt Classic Double Century — This one-day ride is free for members of the Toronto Bicycle Network—but it involves a gruelling 322-kilometre road route from Mississauga to Niagara and back. Register at your own risk!

28 Tour de Guelph — Pick from 25-, 50-, 75- and 100-kilometre routes along the roads surrounding Guelph and discover the region’s fantastic scenery, while meeting new cycling friends.

28 WHEELS — Tour the stunning Niagara Escarpment on two wheels with options from 25 to 100 km, starting from the Kelso Conservation Area.

TBD Manulife Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart — Experience the Gardiner and Don Valley Parkways traffic-free on this road ride in the Greater Toronto Area.

TBD Ride Don't Hide — Two weeks of cycling events in many Ontario communities raises funds and challenges the stigma of mental health.

TBD Tour de Mississippi Mills — The road riding in eastern Ontario is outstanding and this event near Ottawa includes 30-, 60-, 80- or 100-kilometre routes, centred on the quaint community of Mississippi Mills, a short drive from Ottawa.

June is Bike Month, and there are plenty of special events organized in Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe as well as the Eastern Ontario community of Mississippi Mills.

July

3-5 Kingston Classic Stage Race – Come to Kingston for a weekend of road bike events, including a hill climb, individual time trials, criterium and road race.

17 Healthy Parks Healthy People — Day entry is free at all Ontario Parks across the province, many of which have great cycling options.

25-26 MS Bike Grand Bend to London — For over 30 years, this 150-kilometre, two-day ride through the scenic countryside of Southwestern Ontario has been one of the most popular cycling fundraisers for multiple sclerosis research in Canada.

TBD Thunder Bay Cycling Club Race Series — This active club hosts regular race events during the summer that cater to cyclists of skill levels, as well as a weekly women’s road bike night.

August

Bluewater International Granfondo — Experience Southwestern Ontario’s Lambton County on this unique Granfondo in Sarnia, with route options ranging from 30 to 150 kilometres.

2-7 Friends For Life Bike Rally — Over 400 cyclists gather to ride the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail from Toronto to Montreal, raising funds for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Northern Pass — Cycle paved roads through Muskoka’s rugged scenery and raise funds for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

10-14 Great Waterfront Trail Adventure — Explore the southwestern portion of the epic GWTA on this fully supported tour of paved, cyclist-friendly routes along the shores of Lake Ontario, Lake Huron and Lake Erie, spanning 680 km over 8 days of riding.

15-16 Dunnville Grand Tour — The Lake Huron shores of Haldimand County host something for all levels of road riders on this weekend event, with routes ranging from 25 to 100 kilometres.

15 Cycle Camelot — Support the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre on this friendly charity group ride out of Penetanguishene, on Lake Huron’s Georgian Bay.

15 Gran Fondo Lake Huron — Experience the Lake Huron scenery of Bruce County on this group Gran Fondo, starting in Southampton, Ontario and supporting the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

30 Tour de Bonnechere — The quiet Ottawa Valley town of Eganville hosts this family-friendly road cycling event in mid-August. Tours range from 20 to 100 kilometres, with spectacular views.

TBD Kawartha Lakes Classic — You’ll find plenty of road cycling options at this late-August Peterborough-based tour amidst the scenic Kawartha Lakes.

September

Prince Edward County Gran Fondo — The pastoral landscape of Prince Edward County in Southeastern Ontario hosts 50-, 100- and 150-kilometre Gran Fondo rides.

11 Right to Play Gran Fondo — There are lots of ways to participate in the Right to Play Gran Fondo through the rolling hills of Caledon. You can join as an individual, group or corporate team and choose to ride 32, 65 or 85 kilometres. Funds go to Right to Play, which supports kids in Canada staying active mentally and physically through local programs.

12 Discover L&A Ride — This 58-kilometre ride through Eastern Ontario starts and finishes in the quaint, rural community of Bath.

13 Limestone Century Bicycle Tour — You’ve got three choices in this popular annual road riding tour starting in Kingston: 50 and 100 kilometres as well as a 100-mile route, all in support of the advocacy work of Kingston Cycle—and all in admiration of the great roads and scenery along the Frontenac Arch.

19 Tour the Hills — A friendly, one-day ride in Halton Hills explores the beautiful countryside of Ontario’s Green Belt.

20 Greg’s Cycle for Kids — Come to Halton Hills to participate in 50-, 100- or 140-kilometre road rides to support youth cycling initiatives.

20 The Healing Cycle Cycle Ride — This group ride in Mississauga supports hospice and palliative care throughout Ontario

26 Wolfe Island Gravel Grinder – Ride the ferry to Wolfe Island, near Kingston, and ride your gravel bike on a 40- or 75-km route on scenic back roads.

TBD Thousand Island Gran Fondo — Choose from three distances on this ride along the Thousand Islands Parkway between Gananoque and Brockville.

TBD The HunTer Fondo — The HunTer Fondo is not just another charity ride; it’s a celebration of John Hunter, a legendary Ontario cycling enthusiast renowned for his challenging rides and getting people out riding. The annual HunTer Fondo is a poker run-style ride that takes place in the rolling hillsides near Peterborough and offers four distances.

TBD Pedal for Portage — Centre Wellington plays host to road rides in the Grand River Valley, with proceeds supporting the Portage Centre for youth battling substance addiction.

October

The Growling Beaver Brevet — Sign up for a social ride in scenic Grey County, exploring communities in the Beaver Valley and along Georgian Bay with distances of 40 to 200 kilometres. Proceeds support Parkinson’s Canada.
