Top 5 Motorcycle Meet-Ups for 2019

Summer is in full swing, and that means it’s bike night at least somewhere in Ontario. If you’re new to an area or are just getting into riding, events like these are perfect for meeting people, planning rides, or just showing off your bike and hanging out. 

The full list of bike nights and meet-ups is always being updated. There’s a lot there, and you really can’t go wrong with any of them. But there are only so many nights one can get out. Here are five we’ve got our eyes on for 2019.

#TheMotoSocialHamilton

Started in Toronto in 2013 in an effort to build community and camaraderie among motorcycle enthusiasts in the city, #theMotoSocial has spread to cities all over the globe. It’s a very relaxed affair with a focus on good vibes. You don’t have to have a bike to be a part of it, just check their Facebook or Instagram accounts two weeks before the monthly date (first Wednesday of the month in Hamilton) for the announcement to the location, ride over, grab a coffee, and hang out. With the incredible success of the Toronto edition, we’re curious to see how things develop in the Hammer.

Monday Night Dessert Meets

This is a fun one. Every Monday from April to October, meet up at a different sweet spot in the Greater Toronto Area. Riders gather at 7 pm at a pre-determined hand-picked establishment—locally owned, no big chains or corporations—see the full list of locations for 2019 here. Whether you’re just getting started and want to meet other riders or you’re a veteran with a sweet tooth, this is a very friendly affair.

Riders Bike Night at Legendz Pub

Every Wednesday evening the parking lot at Legendz Pub fills up with bikers looking for a good time. Located in Prince Edward County, just across the water from Belleville, the pub is the place to find it. With a great menu including killer wings, and live music from different acts each week, there’s always lots going on here. This season the riders’ bike night includes an all-female burnout, lots of prizes, and fundraising for worthy causes. There’s also the big one in Blackstock on Tuesdays, but the drive out to Prince Edward County is calling us.

Clare’s Bike Night Thursdays

Another season of bike nights at Clare’s Harley-Davidson is upon us. The Niagara-on-the-Lake shop has been running for 60+ years and has earned a reputation not only as a great place to buy a bike or get one repaired but also for throwing a great party. The tradition continues in 2019 with live bands, hot food truck and BBQ, vendors, special guest club each week, draws, and door prizes. (The whole event is weather permitting, so check in closer to the day to confirm.) They stay open later on Thursdays so you can do your shopping while you party. Maybe not a good idea? Or maybe it is!

Famous Sam’s Sunday Breakfast

If you’re into vintage bikes, this is the one for you. This long-running CVMG meet-up starts early at 7:30 am at Famous Sam’s restaurant at Stouffville Road and Highway 8, just east of Highway 404. Classic brekkie with classic bikes. According to Mondo Lulu, who frequented the meet when he was living in the area, “you never know what rare beast will show up. I’ve seen Vincents, a ’35 Norton, various collectible Ducatis, and even a rare Honda RC30 pull up.” After breakfast, groups are formed to go out on rides. There’s also a vintage meet where the west-ender show off their machinery at the Trail Eatery in Campbelleville.

Lakeshore & Leslie Bike Night

This is a long-running meet-up for riders, fans, and anyone who wants to hang out and have a good time at the Freshco/Tim Horton’s parking lot, 731 Eastern Avenue. It takes place on Thursday evenings starting around 7 pm to late. All kinds of bikes and riders come out. It can get pretty busy some nights. There are rumours that there’ll be an ice-cream truck this summer. It’s always a good time!
