Get your boots ready! Wintergreen Fund for Conservation is hosting its annual Fall Hike to Mountjoy Falls along the scenic Mountjoy River. This popular hike is a feast for the senses: brilliant autumn leaves, breathtaking waterfall views, and a hands-on chance to learn how to safely “age” a tree using an increment borer. The Heart of Gold Fest

Love rock music? Love craft beer? Then mark your calendar for Heart of Gold Fest, September 13–20! Timmins comes alive with performances at local hot spots like The Surge Bar, the Victory Tavern, the Moneta and the Airport Hotel. Artists such as Comeback Kid, A Wilhelm Scream, Mad Caddies, Texas King, and more will light up the stage for an epic three-night festival. Northern Ontario Handmade Market

The Timmins Fall Fair

Since 1952, the Timmins Fall Fair has been a local favourite, showcasing the city’s agriculture, produce, and community spirit. Explore kid-friendly zones, live music, pony rides, petting zoos, the Heavy Horse Pull, Human Tractor Pull, horse shows, and the Mountjoy Farmers’ Market. Don’t miss the vendor booths for fresh produce and handmade goodies. Launch Canada Rocket Competition

Rocket science meets real-world adventure at the Launch Canada Rocket Competition, August 16–22, near Timmins. Students from high schools and universities across Canada design, build, and launch rockets—everything from basic single-stage models to advanced liquid/hybrid systems. Beyond the technical challenge, the event offers mentorship, hands-on learning, and community engagement with local First Nations and aerospace partners like MDA Space. It’s an inspiring showcase of Canadian STEM talent and innovation.

Born and raised in Timmins, Ontario, Kendall Grace Fountain is studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Concurrent Education at Nipissing University. With a background as a research assistant and a travel counsellor with Tourism Timmins, she is passionate about the history of her hometown.
