Canadian Electric ATV Market
The 2025 Canadian ATV market will see an increase in electric offerings, driven by growing environmental awareness, advancements in battery technology and a push towards buying domestically. All electric ATV models offer quieter, cleaner rides with zero emissions, making them ideal for eco-conscious riders. With improved battery life, faster charging times, and enhanced performance, electric ATVs are becoming more competitive with traditional gas-powered models. As enthusiasts in Northern Ontario and across the country seek sustainable options, electric ATVs gain traction for recreational riding, offering a greener alternative for powersports enthusiasts.
Canadian EV ATV Maker Theron

Canadian Green ATV Manufacturer Theron, out of Shawinigan Quebec, is turning the industry upside down with their new clean, quiet Reever ATV. According to Theron, the Reever is more than an electric ATV—it's like a Swiss Army knife, which may be fitted with a multitude of accessories for maximal adaptability. With the innovations of Theron's passionate team, the Reever is destined to become a sustainable option for riders. The Reever ATV offers versatility and modularity making it the ultimate tool for any challenge. Combine that with a battery range of 180 KM, the Reever electric ATV sets a new standard for Green off-road powersports.
CanAm Outlander 1000R

Another top domestic choice in ATV/UTVs is the Canadian manufacturer BRP, makers of CanAm, whose behemoth 2025 Outlander 1000R will surely create some waves in the ATV market this year. The 2025 Outlander 1000R and Outlander PRO are being touted as the most powerful ATVs on the market, offering the biggest output engines in the business at an incredible 101 horsepower! I witnessed firsthand during the moose hunting season, what these beasts can do and where they can go. A hunting pal of mine owns one and it is awesome. New for this year, the Outlander 1000R engine has been revamped, boasting faster acceleration and more torque. The engines feature dual overhead camshaft (DOHC), a high compression ratio, high-efficiency intake & exhaust, Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) and Intelligent Engine Braking (iEB). That’s a lot of smart features if you ask me. For more information on CanAm’s all-Canadian-made ATV/UTV lineup, read here.
Performance ATV Tires

New for 2025 are CST tires producing innovative technology that’s affordable and durable. CST tires set a new standard in the powersport industry with the new CST Behemoth. Their radial construction ensures lower rolling resistance in hardpack conditions, and at high speed to ensure that riders make it back from any adventure safe and sound. OFATV: Buy Where You Ride
ATV enthusiasts of Ontario are encouraged to reach out to the Ontario Federation of ATV Clubs (OFATV) for the latest on trails and membership requirements. The Club reminds riders that to use municipal roads, you must possess an M1/G2 Ontario Licence or equivalent and recommend an OFATV Trail permit. At a cost of $150, your new (or renewed) OFATV Pass is more than just a trail permit. Up to 75% of your permit dollars are used to build and maintain ATV trails in the area which you chose to sponsor when you purchased your OFATV trail permit. This is why it is extremely important to “buy where you ride". The remaining 25% pays for government taxes, (HST) liability insurance, government lobbying, and to cover the operating expenses of the OFATV.
Happy Trails in 2025
As we launch into another exciting ATV/UTV season, be safe, happy riding and enjoy your 2025 off-roading season!
