Bells Point Beach

Located on beautiful St. Mary's River, 1/2 KM east of the Hwy By-Pass. Bell's Point is a proven hot spot destination bringing for families visiting Sault Ste. Marie, Echo Bay, Desbarats, and those who need a rest stop while travelling the Trans Canada Highway.

This is a private beach front and wilderness setting that offers pristine sunset views and hikes through the surrounding forest.

Open from June through September with a variety of camping and R.V sites, each with their own picnic table and fire pit.

Pointe des Chenes Park

Located just 20 minutes from Sault Ste. Marie, Pointe Des Chenes is a family RV park & campground. It's a perfect place to get away and enough some time with your family and friends. 

The Park has a lovely sand beach where you can swim in Lake Superior.  The is an ideal location to witness a summer sunset and just relax and watch the impressive lake freighters as they pass by.

Marks Bay

A perfect spot for a walk on the beach with 3000 metres of shoreline on the St. Mary’s River as well as an ideal location to launch a canoe or kayak.

To get there drive to the Sault Ste. Marie Airport and then take the first left after the airport entrance and park in the main parking area to the right of the boat launch.

Pancake Bay

North of Sault Ste. Marie this beautiful area is known for its more than 3 km of beautiful sand beach and crystal clear blue water. The Panoramic view of Lake Superior from the Edmund Fitzgerald Lookout hiking trail has proved to be a hightlight of visiting this area. The park is located along the historic paddling route of the Voyageurs and just a short drive from many regional attractions. Pancake Bay is also one of the areas most popular camping destinations and suited for large RV sites, car camping and yurts with barrier-free campsites, washroom facilities and beach access.

Batchawana Bay Provincial Park

This is a popular summer destination with sandy beaches on Lake Superior just north of Sault Ste. Marie. The drive along Highway 17 near Batchawana Bay is the perfect way to experience the outstanding views of Lake Superior as as well as an ideal spot to stop and enjoy a swim and picnic. If you're a paddler, launch your canoe or kayak from this location for a picturesque paddle along the shore or out into the deep blue waters of Superior.

Brownlee Lake

East of city, Brownlee Lake covers 60 acres of grasslands, lake and forest. Perfect for boating and canoeing and ideal for fishing or bird watching

The water is refreshing and the hiking offers an "adventure trail" for those looking for a more active day at the beach.

Harmony Beach/Haviland Bay Voyageur Trail

This 8.2 kilometre section runs parallel to, and just north of the Trans Canada Highway and is a perfect area to hike. Cross over the highway for a swim on the nicest public beach in the area.

St. Joseph Island Beaches

Approximatley 1 hour east of the city there are three public beaches in the vicinity of Hilton Beach - Forbes Park, which is in the Village; Big Point Park, which is in Hilton Township; and Twin Lakes Park.

Other parks and beaches include; St. Joseph Island, including Beech Beach, Stribling Point Park, and the Women's Institute Park in Richards Landing.

Walk along the one-mile-long boardwalk that follows the waterfront of Hilton Beach, starting at the marina and ending at Forbes Park. There are many shops, restaurants and ice cream stops to explore.
