Best Yoga Hotspots in Sudbury

Perfecting your downward dog and sun salutation has never been easier with an incredible wealth of yoga classes now being offered in Sudbury.

The gentle exercise and breathing practice that originated in ancient India offers a great workout that balances the mind, body and spirit. Sudbury’s yoga classes are getting fuller, more men are joining in and the city’s yoga community is thriving.

Across the city, classes are offered at regular room temperatures as well as in hot studios where temperatures are cranked up past 30°C. Though hot yoga can sound intimidating at first, it’s a great way to ease stretching and promote detoxification (be prepared to sweat!). Classes cater to everyone from first-timers to dedicated yogis and people of all shapes, sizes, genders, ages are signing up.

Yoga is a great way to stretch and heal the body, warm up and forget that it’s cold outside. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned yogi, Sudbury’s yoga studios have something for you. Here’s a run-down of Sudbury’s leading yoga studios:

Myoga

This popular yoga studio has two locations in the Sudbury—one downtown on Cedar Street, and another location in the city’s South End. At both Myoga studios, male and female teachers offer a range of yoga classes and workshops for students of all levels and experience.

Myoga’s downtown studio provides a classic yoga experience, with classes offered at room temperature in a lovely historic building. Here you can join an all level yoga class, where students are encouraged to stay with your own breath and take the modifications that suit you best, or try a Hatha, Vinyasa or Restorative class. Myoga’s downtown location also offers Prenatal Yoga for all of Sudbury’s moms-to-be.

Myoga’s south end studio is a more spacious and modern, state of the art facility with several hot and warm yoga classes. For a deep detoxifying workout try the Power Hot yoga class, or relax and unwind in a quiet Yin class. Myoga offers special Yoga workshops with a focus on holistic topics such sound healing, aroma yoga, and awakening the chakras.

Feel like getting zen while giving back to the community? Check out Myogas’s monthly “Ignite” classes, where proceeds are donated back to a different local charity each month.

Along with fitness kickboxing, pole dancing and fitness bootcamps, Zen Life offers hot yoga classes, as well as beginner level classes and a men’s program.
