The Promised Land for Muskie Anglers

These gigantic muskellunge are just a samplE of what was caught and released in 2014. 

Some say the next world record muskie will be caught in Northwest Ontario. Judging by these photos, I wouldn't be surprised.  Dedicated muskie anglers live for the chance to catch a huge muskie which is referred to as the "fish of 10,000 casts". Although some of these muskies were caught trying to fish for walleye or bass!

Congrats to all the anglers that caught (and released) these beautiful massive muskies in 2014.

48" Muskie Caught at Fireside Lodge

This beautiful muskie was caught & released on Little Vermilion Lake. The muskie was over 48" and over 36 pounds. It was caught by Tim Stewart from Rochester, MN who was staying at Fireside Lodge

53" Muskie Caught at Rex Tolton's Miles Bay Camp

This is one happy fisherman!! The Swoboda trio, father (pictured), son and daughter reeled in this monster muskie in July of 2014. The family was staying at Miles Bay Camp and were fishing in Miles Bay on Lake of the Woods.

43" Muskie Caught at Country Camping & Cabins

Bill Trout caught this beautiful 43" muskie while fishing on Big Vermilion Lake in September of 2014 at Country Cabins in Sioux Lookout. Big Vermilion’s shoreline stretches for 86 miles encompassing this dynamic body of crystal clear water with a maximum depth of 140 feet.

50.5" Muskie Caught at Crow Rock Lodge

Matt Beulke caught this massive 50.5" muskie on Lake of the Woods at Crow Rock Lodge. Crow Rock is found on the northern portion of Lake of the Woods, 17 miles south of Kenora by boat.

50" Muskie Caught at Eagle Lake Sportsmen's Lodge

Patrick Ferrone was a first time guest at Eagle Lake Sportsmen's Lodge it was his first time fishing Eagle Lake when he boated this beauty. Patrick was out walleye fishing when he first boated his first ever 46" muskie. Later that day he was once again fishing for walleye and he managed to boat this 50" Muskie. Using his walleye rod and rig he managed to catch, take a quick picture and release back into Eagle Lake.

53.5" Muskie Caught at Temple Bay Lodge

Kyle from the Chicago area caught this 53.5" muskie on a figure 8 in Temple Bay of Eagle Lake all by himself and his proud dad netted it for him. The smile is probably still there!

Carl Avila boated this huge 52" muskie on the Clearwater-Pipestone Chain of Lakes at Little Moose Lodge. Clearwater Lake, Slender Lake, Schistose Lake, and Pipestone Lakes encompass over 20,000 acres of prime muskie habitat.
