Celebrate Canada Day in Thunder Bay

If you're in Thunder Bay for Canada Day, you'll need to know where all of the celebrations, activities, and events are happening. We've got a complete list of events running from morning to night (and a few until the following morning).. Extra points to those of you who hit them all!

Fort William Historical Park - 10 am-5 pm

Enjoy a day filled with fun indoor and outdoor activities, exciting contests and games, and great music and entertainment at Fort William Historical Park! Join in the log sawing contest, moose ski races, Canada pride contest, and the Great Canadian Trivia Challenge for a chance to win great prizes. Test your aim with axe throwing, musket firing, spear throwing, and the paintball accuracy challenge. Discover the Games Gallery, Bubble and Science Stations, and Carnival Games. Explore Fort William and discover its important role in the development of Canada. Go for a canoe  ride along the Kaministiquia River, build and race a miniature boat, participate in the Scavenger Hunt, enjoy delicious Canada Day cake, and much more!

Daily tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, seniors (60+) and youth (6-12)

Sleeping Giant Brewing Company - Noon-5pm

Celebrate Canada Day during this family fun event at the brewery in support of CNIB! Featuring live music, a bouncy castle, local food vendors, Science North interactive booth, beer, and more!

General admission tickets are $10 and VIP admission tickets are $30 (includes a carabiner mug and a drink token)! Kids under the age of 18 accompanied with an adult are free.

Thunder Bay Border Cats - 1:35PM

Spend the afternoon at the ballpark cheering on the Border Cats. There will also be a jersey auction at the game in support of the Special Olympics. Tickets are only $10 and can be picked up at the Port Arthur Stadium box office or online.

Canada Day on the Waterfront - 5 pm-11 pm

Canada Day on the Waterfront is Thunder Bay's largest one-day event. Make your way to Prince Arthur's Landing where you will find 5 stages filled with music and entertainers all evening. Throughout the park you will find performers and demonstrations from local groups - skateboarding, exotic animals, face painting, bouncy castles and games. There is of course always the splash pad fun! The celebrations culminate with fireworks at 11 pm. Food vendors will be on site and both Bight Restaurant and the Anchor and Ore (inside the Delta Waterfront Hotel) will be open until midnight.
