It's Time to Head North: Fish, Friends, and Starry Summer Nights

Northern Ontario, Canada is big—it’s bigger than Texas, more than twice as big as Germany and three times the size of the UK.

One of the best ways to explore our friendly province is our scenic touring routes, which include the Georgian Bay Coastal Route, the Lake Superior Circle Tour, the Heart of Canada Tour, the Lake Temiskaming Tour, or the Grand Algoma Tour—all just a few hours from Toronto, Ottawa, and U.S. border crossings from Michigan, Minnesota, and New York.

Along the way, visitors can discover our bustling northern cities like Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, and Thunder Bay, and hundreds of historic small towns like Little Current, Killarney, Terrace Bay, Nipigon, Wawa, Hearst, Dryden, and Kenora.

Wherever you choose to explore, you'll find festivals, pow wows, farmer's markets, scenic lookouts, provincial parks, hiking trails, paddling opportunities, world-class fishing, and welcoming lodges where you can spend the entire summer sitting on the dock in your happy place.

Just be sure to leave enough time. There's lots to discover—and the joy is in the journey.
