Makoop Lake Lodge is located on a 28,000-acre Makoop Lake. It is an all-inclusive fly-in camp with affordable rates in a very remote, yet comfortable Northwest Ontario fishing camp. Fish for trophy northern pike and plenty of walleye.

How to get there:

From Sioux Lookout, you will take a 1.5-hour float plane flight into Makoop Lake. You can drive or take Bearskin Airlines into Sioux Lookout. 

Type of accommodations:

Makoop Lake Lodge offers an All-inclusive Plan as well as Housekeeping Packages. Internet is available. There are boardwalks connecting all cabins. All cabins have running water with showers and toilets.

Big Hook Wilderness Camp

The unsurpassed fishing in the Opasquia Provincial Park is maintained by the promotion of all trophy fish being released. All walleye exceeding 18" and northern over 27" are released. Combine those conservation policies with lakes that see very little fishing pressure and you get unbelievable fishing!

How to get there:

Drive or fly into Red Lake, Ontario. From the Red Lake Airport, you will fly via Wasaya Airways to Sandy Lake Airport and from there by float plane to the outpost camps.

Type of accommodations:

Big Hook Wilderness Camps accommodations are fly-in outposts within Opasquia Park. Most are the only cabin on the lake with the exception of Central Lake where there are two outpost cabins as well as the owner’s cabin. Guide service is available at Central only.

North Caribou Camps

North Caribou Camps are located on Cemetery Island on beautiful North Caribou Lake which is 81,000 acres. There’s fantastic walleye and trophy northern pike fishing. Fly into this camp which is located on a sand beach.

How to get there:

Drive or fly to Thunder Bay, Ontario. Your package includes your flight from Thunder Bay into North Caribou Lake as well as night accommodation (double occupancy) at the Valhalla Inn Friday evening. 

Type of accommodations:

The main camp on Cemetery Island has three two-bedroom sleeping cabins, an oversized cook cabin, a shower house with two three-piece baths, a fish cleaning house, and a camp attendant to ensure everything runs smoothly. Meals are an option. There is also a new four to the six-person cabin, which is completely set up with a full kitchen, bath, and private dock.

Pickle Lake Outposts

Fly into one of 10 outposts north of Pickle Lake, Ontario. The outposts vary in size and amenity, giving you the freedom to choose one that suits your needs. Experience the beauty and solitude of Northwestern Ontario and fish in some of the best lakes and rivers in Canada. 

How to get there:

Drive to Pickle Lake via Highway 599. Once there, you will be flown into your outpost by float plane. 

Type of accommodations:

There are 10 outposts to choose from at Pickle Lake Outposts. Trips are five days and nights, out on the sixth day. Arrangements can be made if you want to take a canoe trip or be dropped off to camp in the middle of the wilderness.

Showalter’s Fly-in Outposts

Showalter's Fly-In Outposts fly from Ear Falls to the far north in Ontario. There are 14 outposts on fly-in-only lakes such as Carroll, Cherrington, Cochrane, and Severn Lake. Fish for walleye, northern pike, and lake trout.

How to get there:

All of Showalter's trips depart from their airbase on Highway 105, 15 miles north of Ear Falls, Ontario. Many guests choose to drive to Ear Falls the evening prior to their departure, as you can be departing early in the morning.

Amik Outposts/ Lac Seul Airways Ltd.

Amik Outposts have walleye, northern, and lake trout fishing that is nothing short of spectacular. Their lakes are on river systems, so they maintain good fishing all through the summer. By maintaining a no-trophy policy, your chances of catching large fish are greatly increased. Northern pike 40″ plus and walleye 25″ plus are quite common.

How to get there:

Drive or fly into Red Lake to our airplane base, which is located east of Red Lake on Highway 125 towards Balmertown. You can fly into International Falls or Winnipeg and rent a car and drive to Red Lake or fly Bearskin Airlines from Winnipeg.

Type of accommodations:

The 11 fly-in outpost cabins are equipped with solar-powered lighting, hot and cold running water, showers, fully equipped kitchens, and comfortable furniture. They are located near the Manitoba/Ontario border.
