Esposito Rink – Queen Street West

The Phil Esposito Park stretches from the corner of Queen W. and John Street to the corner of Queen W. and Andrew Streets in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Canada. The park was renamed after the famous NHL hockey player who was born in Sault Ste. Marie. Formerly known as Central Park, its original name is still reflected in the name of the northernmost bordering street: Central Park Avenue.

During the winter months, it is a well-maintained outdoor skating rink enclosure. Mainly constructed and maintained for the use of hockey practices and pick-up games, the rink is open to anyone who likes to skate (although, a second, open ice surface is also available for non-hockey players to enjoy at those times that a game or practice is underway).

Note: This is a non-supervised rink and park. Used responsibly, it is a safe area for skating, but skaters are reminded that they use the facility at their own risk. Please stay onsite with your children to ensure their safety.
