Ride Dapper for a Cause: The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Returns to Ontario in 2025

Every May, a unique spectacle unfolds across Ontario's streets: a parade of impeccably dressed riders astride classic motorcycles, all united for a noble cause.
This is The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR), a global event that merges style, camaraderie, and philanthropy to support men's health initiatives.

A Global Motorcycle Event with a Mission: What Is the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride?
Founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2012, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a worldwide motorcycle event aimed at raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health programs.
Participants don their finest attire—think sharp suits, polished boots, and monocles if you've got 'em—and ride vintage or classically styled motorcycles through city streets, turning heads and sparking conversations about crucial health issues. It's part fashion show, part awareness campaign, and all heart.
When Is the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Ontario?
The 2025 edition of DGR rolls out on Sunday, May 18. Ontario hosts several rides, including standout events in Toronto, Hamilton, and other cities. While the exact routes are kept under wraps to encourage signups and keep things orderly, you can count on scenic urban rides and spirited community meetups at the finish line.

Who Can Join the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in Ontario?
If you ride a classic or vintage-style bike—a café racer, scrambler, bobber, or something with retro soul—then you’re already halfway there. The rest? It’s about spirit. You don’t need to be a grizzled motorcycle veteran or a fashion model. You just need a passion for riding and a belief that men’s health deserves more attention and less stigma.
DGR is about showing up, looking sharp, and doing something meaningful on two wheels.
How to Register and Ride in the 2025 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride
Here’s how it works:
- Register online at gentlemansride.com and choose your local ride.
- Fundraise by sharing your ride page and encouraging friends, family, and coworkers to support men’s health.
- Dress Dapper—this is not a ride for leather jackets and full-face helmets. Think vintage. Think Gatsby on wheels.
- Show Up and Ride with your fellow well-dressed misfits and changemakers on May 18.
All funds raised go to Movember, supporting programs focused on prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. It’s high style for a higher purpose.

Why You Should Ride: Supporting Prostate Cancer and Men’s Mental Health
This isn’t just a ride. DGR has raised over $55 million USD globally since 2012, all aimed at improving the lives of men through awareness and action.
Men’s health, particularly mental health and prostate cancer, often takes a backseat. This ride flips the narrative. It says, “Hey, it’s okay to talk about it. And by the way, let’s look good doing it.”
You’re not just riding for yourself—you’re riding for your brother, your father, your best friend, and every man who's been told to “tough it out” in silence.
