Haunted Halloween
Trick-or-treating, dressing up, carving pumpkins, and gobbling candy: these are just some of the ghoulish joys of Halloween time for children and adults alike! If you are in Northwest Ontario and find yourself visiting Thunder Bay on a weekend in the month of October, you can partake in another fun Halloween experience by bringing your kids out to Fort William Historical Park for the Kids' Halloween Hoot!
Geared towards children ages 6 – 12, the Halloween Hoot is a day of fun and games for the whole family, and offers a child-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. Youngsters are encouraged to come dressed up as ghosts, goblins, vampires, witches, and other scary creatures for what will be an afternoon of spooky fun!
Fort William Historical Park, the historic fur trade site, will be transformed into a Halloween haven of scary characters and eerie decorations that is sure to capture the imaginations of children for this hallowed season. Kids will enjoy their own share of giddy scares in the historical buildings within the palisade, where laughing skeletons and other haunted creatures might pop out of the shadows.
The Kids' Halloween Hoot features friendly witches and ghouls who engage children in fun activities with plenty of games and crafts. Youngsters will enjoy an endless array of hands-on activities, including 'spooky crafts,' the haunted maze, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, and much, much more. Of course, there will also be plenty of delicious Halloween treats!
The Kids' Halloween Hoot will run every Saturday and Sunday afternoon throughout the month of October from noon to 5:00 p.m. No advance reservations are required for the daytime event. Admission is $5 for adults, $10 for children ages 6-12, and free for kids age 5 and under.
Make Halloween special for the whole family this year by participating in a new Halloween tradition they will surely love!
