Fall Colours - The Lake Temiskaming Loop Tour
Fall Rides
The leaves are changing colour and there is no better time to head out onto the open road. We've spent the last week touring all over Ontario, exploring the Lake Temiskaming Loop Tour and finding all the best place to visit, stay, and side routes to take - check out our in depth coverage over the next week - including some video footage of the routes themselves! So leave the traffic behind and hit the open roads of Northern Ontario.
The Lake Temiskaming Loop Tour
While the colours in the city might take longer to change, Northern Ontario is bursting with yellows, golds and reds. Starting in North Bay and winding up Highway 11 to Temiskaming Shores, the tour takes you through some scenic areas that are full of history - and great places to eat! Then take Highway 101 through Quebec and some incredible open roads where there are more cows than transport trucks. But don't let the farm land fool you, the rolling roads can keep even the seasoned tourer engaged.

Not Too Chilly!
Now's a great time of year to sleep late. With the mid-day temperatures between a comfortable 12 and 26(!) degrees, most of your ride will be perfect. But morning temperatures can dip below 0, so it's best to wait until after 9:30 to hit the road. There are plenty of great places for breakfast on the tour, and Northerer's certainly don't mind if you linger to enjoy another cup of warming coffee. If you're heading out later in the season, the sun is generally still warm, but a pair of heated handgrips, a heated vest, or even heated sleeves can make all the difference.
